Hook-up courtesy of one of Thatkid's long time friends. The supra i have has a blown head gasket and I needed something more fun than the crappy automatic 1997 mercury sable i was driving around.

The picture favors widescreens :-D

I think I'd rather drive that than the Supra. My pops just sold his 1987 Supra, having owned it from new. That inline 6 is a dream, but the thing handles like a truck compared to a well suspended (hung?) GTI. I got my license in an '84 Sirocco (old mechanic boss always called them Shit-Rockets) and then moved up to a clean Alpine White '90 Corrado G60. I still think that chasis/body match was unbeatable by anything VW produced/produces. And it was just before VW started making these chunky, heavy things...
Have fun!

The Scirocco was a sweet car! They still have them in the UK. And they are sweet looking.

But Dillon is very much enjoying this GTI. I'm glad I could help two friends out! And I didn't even get a finders fee!! Although DIllon did buy me a shop broom so I'll take that!

Now, go drive it. Like you did on that test drive.... :whistle

With the right suspension and the turbocharged engine, the Supra could be an equally fun car to drive. Unfortunately I had the non-turbo 1986.5 supra with probably original suspension and it does weigh as much as a truck. It's getting stored for the winter and then probably will try to sell it unless I get a good job before that heh. Graduating from college in a month wish me luck!

That's nice. I remember back in high school a buddy of mine had one (92 GTi). Really nice with the Recaro seats. Pretty quick too. They weren't quick enough to keep up with the 73 Rx3 I was driving at the time but nonetheless were very impressive. Congrats and enjoy.

This one has a little kick in it and it's very fun to drive. She's gonna get me in trouble and I'm blaming nate!

That's funny, my dad's was a '86.5 too. One of his buddies had a '95 Turbo. It had a bunch of mods, like a three inch full exhaust, yadda yadda yadda. I couldn't touch the dashboard when he was launching it. :-D

If I end up keeping the supra after all, I need to go turbo, it just begs for it. So... Nate! Get your shop finished!
