What are some of the helmet or bike cam setups that you guys have?
Any knowledge on the Tachyon XC? I hear it's pretty decent compared to others for the price but

I've never heard of them. When I have the spare cash I'm grabbing one of these.

Shoots HD video and records it to a microSD card. While I'll probably never use the HD function, or at least not very often, it sure is nice to have the tech available. It's about a 100 more but I think the build quality looks better, plus the HD.

If any one wants to get a HD camera that records to memory card on the cheap, check out Aiptek (
http://www.aiptek.com/). I picked up a 1080p camera from these guys for like $150 last year. The quality is acceptable to good, just not fantastic. The nice thing though is that at $150 (probably cheaper now) you won't be particularly worried about breaking it. For instance, I rigged mine up to a beech kite at the Outer Banks last year and got some pretty cool video out of it. I'm thinking about buying another and tearing it apart so I can separate the camera part from the rest of the electronics. That way I could mount the camera in all sorts of crazy places on the bike, like the swing arm. Should make for some pretty cool video.
Actually looking at their site, the newest one has image stabilization (a f*ck fantastic feature) for $200. Hmm...

Do you have any video footage you can share with us as an example?

That's a good idea. Any footage with the Aiptek , or any other? Can you mount it on the helmet?
Damn , you guys showed me some great cameras. I'm leaning a bit towards the Contour HD which is pricey but also like the quality on the new Aiptek. I think the waterproof/shockproof feature on the Tachyon is a plus ,but the quality is not that good , especially in low light conditions.
Mounting the cam in crazy places is on my mind as well.

Thats the one.Thats the 5 version and the one im getting and used was the 3 version which is the model before and is cheeper by approx $40usd.
The guys that have the new version say the field of view is a little wider and the old version suits bike better.
