It was a lot of fun. Granted carrying everything for 10 days was not as much fun. Camera gear weighs a lot! The UK makes it easy with their camping though. So long as it's not private property or doesn't have a fence around it, it's legal to camp there. Now Ireland...I'm pretty sure we camped illegally every night, but being leave no trace campers we didn't have any issues with folks.

We did get parking coned one night. We think it was some guys we met in a pub after the Scotland VS Iceland game. It's a little weird to unzip your tent door and have a 2' parking cone right in front of it. Then you get out and find a couple more surrounding your tent. Kinda funny afterwards though.

Hotels are nice and all but I don't have money for that. 7 nights of camping with food was about 50 bucks US. We spent 45 on the last two nights staying in hostels. Pretty much all expenses went towards trains, buses, cabs, and the ferry from scotland to ireland. Plus I would never have gotten the pictures I did staying in a posh hotel. So I recommend the camping!

Thanks Luke! The weather was a bit on the chilly side but I knew that going over. My down sweater and I were bestest friends all week! Although I wish I had packed the 15° bag for two of the nights. I just didn't have the room. I got cozy with everything I brought those nights. Average was about 45°-50° during the day and maybe 10° cooler at night. Got some rain here and there but it was on days we'd been hiking for so long it felt good. In England we got sun for two days and it was shorts and t-shirt worthy while you were moving. However, our last night on the mountain we ran for our tents about 6:30. The temp dropped a good 15° in about 30 min and then the rain started. Then the wind. That was a cold one. Let up a little in the morning and we hiked off the mountain and found a nice hostel with hot showers. Then the sun came back out and we got a sweet sunset.

All in all, a very worthwhile trip!

I looked at that one and thought to myself, "I need more megapixels!"

I really like your night exposure of the church. Is that an HDR, or just a long exposure?

Just a long exposure. Shot it with a 16-35mm at f4 I think for about 8 seconds. I would normally do an HDR for something like that but seemed to be lit to where I didn't really need to.

It's not about the megapixels though. It's all about the full frame sensor and then having the megapixels on there. 1st gen 5D's are going down a little in price. Starting looking for one!!
