Gervin used to make shocks like that for the mountain bike industry. Amazing shocks that were ahead of their time and then K2 bought them out and killed them. Perhaps these will last.

i wonder how well this works, the spring looks too large for the shock, so unless it's a soft spring like 95 was talking about, it looks like it would spring back too quick for the shock to handle if you hit a big bump. Unless that's a high compression shock.
And something like this looks like it would lower the manufacturers production costs, and with it being as close in design to the rear shock assy, it begs the question "why didn't they design it like this"? It can't be something that all motorcycle manufacturers have simply overlooked. There must be a reason they didn't make it like this. It could have something to do with the shock not being able to handle the strength of the spring, or safety could be a concern if the shock is a small high compression shock, because when the shock fails the spring would spring back too much compared to the two fork setup. I don't know..it's interesting though I will say that.
I've been comparing that video to
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhTRihrHUqc, and it looks like <--- video has a more fluidlike movement of the forks compared to the video above. I don't know, maybe you guys can try to see if there is a difference in suspension. By the way, this is a Hawaii cruise video

what about the super charged r1! go fetch up some info on that bike!
I saw this r1 with the weird forks about a week ago.
they seem kinda out of place.

.
its more futuristic.

I cant wait for the big 4 to come up with some design like that. Although I do think it is only a matter of time before they do. We'll probably see that in WSB or AMA racing. Oh wait, they dropped out of the AMA.

Thats not new its a rip off of and old HD springer front end..........

The "custom" bike fad chopper or otherwise will not survive hard times such as these we find ourselves in.........

Ummm... The girder / 'springer' fork actually pre-dates the telefork, and in many ways is a far superior design. To say that it's a rip-off of a Harley Springer front end is to say the rest of the bike is a rip-off of a '17 Indian...
(The immediate response to my first statement is of course, "So why aren't more (any?!) vendors selling them?!" A question asked by many. You'll notice the first thing most people do upon seriously upgrading a bike is to ditch the stock front end...)

H-D did NOT invent the springer by a long way. Springer fronts are quite a bit more responsive & a plusher ride in general.
Why are there not more around because the sportsbike buyers do not want to be seen with "a H-D" front end on their bikes it is all about perception & marketing !

HD came out with the "springer" in 1930........If that set up was better every racer on the planet who could get their hands on one would....
