Here's my wife's 1992 FZR 600 with the R6 tail and seat, and YZF 600R front plastic and tank , modified 600R header (should have used the R6 header but oh well)
It started about 1 1/2 years ago as a naked FZR then turned into this. SHE actually turned wrenches on it too when we built it. You should have seen it before we started. The flame job is only about 2 or 3 months old. She had a specific shade of green in mind for the flames too. It was just plain metallic blue.ShogunTX wrote:Man your wife is one lucky girl to have you put in so much wrench time on her bike. I would have just bought her a new bike in her favorite color. But that aside great work I though it was a YZF at first glance.
Yeah its for sale but hasn't sold yet. I still like showing it off. She has already won a couple of trophys here at some small shows we've entered it in.Target30 wrote:nice looking bike. arent you selling it?
No, The wrench time was done by me and her (pic below is her taking fender off). It was mostly her design and my fabrication. The R6 tail was started when we got it but not done very good nor complete. I made the rear seat cover a hinged, locked storage compartment since it is just for a solo rider. Here's what we started with:PAFizzer600 wrote:Looks like he bought it from a member that sold his after putting tons of his wrench time in
Congrats!
Not if you had seen it up close! It looked like someone had sprayed some kind of bed liner or similar crap on it. I used Air Craft Remover, that didn't do too good then used Bulldog spray on paint remover, that STILL wouldn't get it all off. Then had to break out the wire brush to get all that Crap off! It was a mess! Started to strip it down to the bare frame and sandblast the stuff off had the wire brush not worked. If it don't sell this fall, It may undergo some more upgrades by spring AND a strip down deatailing!95FZR600 wrote:I would of left the black frame.
