It's a sweet set-up, but the blue color just doesn't appeal to me. But then again i like purple. What about painting the whole thing gloss black? (or gloss charcoal gray metallic?) The blue paint looks a little dull (at least in the pictures) The swingarm looks great. Down near the exhaust are you holding the fairing on with a black zip-tie? Maybe get TK to fab you a fairing bracket and use a regular LP windscreen bolt/grommet there instead.

also a dark smoke windscreen might make the front area look a bit more finished. Cool carbon dash, again looks 90%, couple holes missing screws at top, again, screws need to be black or use LP allen head (black-gloss) bolt/grommets.

oh yes, and while i'm being tough on you, time for some plain black grips, the yellow just doesn't go with anything else, it sticks out and looks kinda funny.

i'm not trying to be a jerk, just trying to give constructive criticism. hopefully didn't offend ya.

absolutely no offense taken,

Like i mentioned, a lot of cosmetic things need to be done. it was supposed to be done during the rebuild, but a baby really takes the time out of extra curricular activities! i turned towards just getting it back together for a ride or two before winter sets in. Gonna take care of the bodywork this winter, and apply some decals(i love the GP look!) the dash is getting remade to fit my sirius radio and a gps. i havent made a decision on the windscreen yet, this one has some cracks in it, so i do need a new one eventually. oh yes, zip ties are wonderful! i have brackets made, but havent put them on yet, i have to take the lower off to put the forgotten kickstand switch back on, so they will be put on then. Probably gonna stay blue, it is my favorite color, the yellow grips were for the yellow paint scheme that never came to fruition, they are going away too, eventually. gonna take my first test drive today if it dries up a little...hopefully i dont have to push it back home!

done when i was contemplating doing my frame black! before all this crazyness started

I think 'black' frames are the coolest!

That's a lot of work... now, get riding, would ya?

Save the building for the winter months and go ride. Its looking good. The swingarm lined up and everything is good? I like the graphics you have designed out.

I RODE!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 mph for about a 1/4 a mile, no real issues, damp road and brand new tires, and needless to say i was nervous as hell! turned around, came back past the house at about 40, turned around and did it 2 more times! need to adjust the shift lever and rear brake pedal(not that i use it, but it is kinda in the way of my foot riding position. god i feel good! started to rain on my last pass, so i pulled it into the garage triumphantly! now it is beer and football!

oh, and as far as i know, it lines up great. looks good, kinda hard to measure, so i just have to watch my chain and sprocket wear for a while to be sure it is all set.

Glad to hear everything went well. I was a little worried on my 1st trip out so when I did I gave it hell through 1st and 2nd gears and all was well. I like the blue so just add some stickers and your good to go.

You going to do something with the tank? Doesn't having that big hole in there by the seat bug you?

tank hole was filled in, unfortunately during the build, something was tossed on it and i broke the filling out. i glued it back in, but it is pretty obvious. final paint will be done this winter, will probably fix up the hole and the rest of the plastics, and go with it like it is. then maybe do the tank swap later, havent decided if i am going to or not yet.

I actually wouldn't do a tank swap. The fzr tank flows very well with the rest of your bike. I'd say get the hole completely flushed and paint.

I will have to disagree with you on this one. I think the YZF 600 tank looks way better on the FZR.
