New Bike...New Project..Starting Over Again

Post by sweekster »

Ok so I've been looking to get a bigger bike for a good while now. It's not that I don't like 600, I actually think they are great but the seating position can be quite a handful for my neck to deal with and some longer rides are just down right painful. Started looking around for something bigger with a better seating position. Ended up finding what you see below there for a pretty good price. It's a 94 FZR 1000. It's been sitting for about 4 years now. There's no key and no seat. All bodywork is there with an extra rear tail. A Protek Keyless gas cap. In the box of parts that came with there were K&N pods which leads me to think it's got some kind of jet kit (maybe a stage 3). Also has a full Yoshi system on it. Does it run? I hope so. But keep in mind my 600 did not run when I bought that one either. With all that said...I don't have a need for 2 FZR's right now so I will be putting my 600 up for sale. Anyway...on to the pics

Nice find!

I would highly suggest ripping the carbs out and do a serious cleaning. 4 years = varnish in the carbs.

Keep us up to date with the progress!

Yeah..I've been wanting to for a while. Had myself convinced I needed an EFI bike but I got over that!! Plus I realized I really have a love for the FZR so I jumped on this when i saw it. That plane is actually a trainer (my second one) and has only actually flown once. We took it out so I could learn and as soon as it was up the muffler came off. We haven't been out to fly again since.
