I know how you guys like pictures. So just for fun I compiled the progress of my Fizzer from the first day I got it till now.

Trailer ed home from the previous owner on April 9th 2008 (sorry this was from my cell phone)

First day at home.

Note the stator cover, A little rash on that side.

Image
I couldn't wait to paint it so this was my first attempt (rattle can) I wasn't satisfied!
Image
Stripped the plastics for the second time!
Image
First time using a spray gun and compressor
Image
Pieces put back on, newly powder coated wheels, and tires.

And the prettiest girl in the world my daughter and I.
note: Just so you know we rode around my cul da sac in 1st gear.
I never ride like a "squid" and never with my kids except that one time. This was the photo op for the "better half".
notice "FZROnline" decal on the back plastic.

Since then I have cut sanded all the plastics, (gezz that's hard work :ermm: ) added a few things like new mirrors, clear alternatives brake light, and a complete front end rebuild.
So there it is boys and girls.

Very nice paint job. Very cute little girl you have to.

My boys love bikes but my daughter who is 11 has never been on a bike with me or anyone and when they get home from their 4 week stay at grandmas I plan on taking her for a ride on the MC.

Great job on the paint there, especially for first time gunning it..

Did you find it fairly simple? I know it's a tough undertaking with all the steps and such, but it's worth it in the end if you can do it.

And the sticker looks awesome :D

Thanks! Autozone (Paint Shop Finish System) 1 qt Deep Blue, 1 qt Primer and 1 qt Clear $60.00. FZR decals from TapeWorks $45.00. Not to bad for around 100 bucks.

Bw, Deciding on the paint was one thing. It was tough, and I really had to exercise patience, which doesn't come easy for me. Trying to fit the project around family life, work and spraying outside right when the dandelions are floating around the neighborhood was interesting :duh: It was worth it in the end. The bike gets complements all the time, everyone seems very surprised when I tell them it's 16 years old. nice feeling!

TG,
Nice paint job , the wheels were powder or spray ?

Good to see you are keeping biking in the family to many girls are not allowed (DOH) and so we bikers (and the future generation of us) are deprived of womenfolk who have a knowledge of boys and their toys. banghead

All my girls have ridden with me, my last X band them from riding when we divorced silly bitch, screwy this wife has no problem providing they "armour" up ClapHands

The youngest & her choice of bike only 2.5K UKP -http://fzronline.com/gallery2/main.php? ... alNumber=2

George, I went powder coat route. It cleans up nicer IMO. My oldest girl just got a mini ATV. It's got a throttle limiter to (5mph) for us fearful fathers. Guess it's in the blood eh!.
I can't view your picture george, it comes up as "Security Violation" could you link it again?

My daughter riding with her best friend on the back. Crazy girls!

Very nice and clean looking bike, good job on the paint.

I too enjoy my a younger riding partner-my 10 year old daughter. I have built her up over the last few years, and now she can ride up to 8 hours in a day with me as long as there are lots of breaks. I've got a cruiser for long distances which makes it easier and we have worked out hand signals to communicate, so its really fun now. Nothing like sharing the road with a kid, as long as it's done in a safe manner. This year we hit a rain storm, and she pulled through just like a little trooper. (Mom was in the car in case she decided the rain was too much)

Here we are just after getting hit with a good rain on that trip. Notice how she has snagged Daddy's Alpinestars riding gloves.....They fit her like a gauntlet glove. Sorry, not meaning to hijack the post, just proud of my little girl!
