Well, some weekend this November I'll be driving my motorcycle down to TK's house and it will get ripped apart and everything will be labeled. Should only take us a few hours tops then it'll be lots of part cleaning and painting and making old stuff look new. I should be updating with pics soon! :-D

You know he keeps claiming this but never has time to make it down to my place. You offer someone free moto storage and get no thanks. MAN!

Well, the time is finally upon us and I am starting my rebuild. Rode the 75 miles to TK's house last night in 30 degree weather. It was flurrying on the way down and I was damn cold. But I got the bike there and we ran some pre rebuild errands and cleaned a little before tearing into the bike. We realized how crazy my bike was. Between all the unmatching bolts, broken bolts in the frame, jerry-rigged fixes, dead shocks, broken teeth, oil leaks, etc. I'm glad that I am doing this because its no longer a build just for fun, but obviously necessity is thrown in there as well. I'll try to upload as many pics as possible because i know we are all whores like that.

Cleaning.

Thanks again to TK for the storage and knowledge for this rebuild. And for all the help with disassembling. Obviously with these pictures it looks like I just showed up and he did all the work. haha. Although he did do a lot of the disassembling. I think it helps that he's taken an fzr apart 6-7 times.

Maybe like, 3 or 4 hours. We weren't going balls to the wall fast as we could. WE dissassembled another fzr a few weeks ago in like, 2 hrs.

Nice work on the tear down. I'm looking forward to the updates and watching it come back to life better than it was before. Also, i think it's kinda cool that not only does Wolverine actually exist but he lives in the north burb's of chi-town AND you guys are buddies.

I have a yoshimira RS3 oval can . I had cut it in half sorta to make a shorty can buy never finished it . I gutted it but if you wanna try to mess with it ill give it to ya just for shippin which probably shouldn't be more then 20 bucks . I know the can cost over 250 brand new . Just a thought though, can probably ship priority and be there in 2days!

Please tell me you tried to drill the rivets out first...

j/k

banghead

a cloth-covered monkey wrench / pipe wrench and lots of WD-40 wouldn't get it off ?

Way too much rust on the chain and damaged sprocket (do you ride off-road with this thing????)
I guess if your pipe was as rusted as the chain it was probably fused together. ...nightmare.

 :cop:
