Some more small updates. This week becomes the push week to get everything done on it. Going to be busy. But will also have some cooler updates.

The belt cover taped off before being drilled.
Image

Then I drilled it.
Image
Image

Then I stripped it all down and sanded it smooth. It will get coated gloss black to match everything again.
Image

The wee little 3mm led that will soon be going into it's bolt housing. I'd have a picture of it finished but I blew the LED and am waiting on a new one. Sad day.
Image
Image

Turned down the edges of the riser plugs.
Image
Image

A peak of them on the bike.
Image

Got the Roland Sands Designs LED idiot lights wired into the harness
Image

Then I started making a mount to mount the turn signals. I will most likely coat it black but I wanted to polish it up for the hell of it.
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

Got the new spiegler line installed. I used red banjo bolts to draw the slightest of attention that the line was changed. It will also tie in the red on the rear fender and the side cover.
Image
Image

Placement of the rear signals. Thanks to Andy searching through 30+ pages of signals on ebay, these fit quite nicely.
Image
Image

And I'm torn on the plugs. Not sure I want to coat them black or not. They would live their life unnoticed and forgotten. I might see about getting my logo laser engraved on them, but I'm not sure I have the time to do it. Otherwise, I'm thinking I like them the way they are. They tie into the tank cap I think.

Engraving on those would be awesome. Need something with your logo, but I understand the time constraint.

Looking really good, Nate.

More work. Things didn't go as planned but I guess that's life when doing something custom. My LED light for the rear is finished although it doesn't shine down enough on the logo so it's kind of worthless. All that effort....

Anyhow,

Finished up the pulley cover. I may recoat it in a texture black if it gets here soon enough. It'll blend it better. Also my gloss is going retarded so it has random ripple sections. Not sure why.

The rough outline.
Image

Starting the window.
Image

Getting a shelf for the plex to sit on.
Image

Mounted. You can't even tell there is plex in there!
Image

Coated and finished. You can see the rippling. I don't dig it.
Image

Got the belt guard coated.
Image
Image

A side shot.
Image

That's all. Ordering cables tomorrow and should be able to button it all up over the weekend.

Yup. They make the cap stand out.

You need to put the LED through the bolt the other way (put the wires through the little side hole first and feed through) so the LED can be pointed toward the logo. Might have to enlarge the side hole. Plus, make sure you have a wider angled and really bright LED.

Oh I did. The picture of me just dropping it in there was to show the idea, not the execution. It was not an easy fit. As for wider angle and bright, well, they don't really offer much choice in 3mm white LEDS. I'm going to make another one later in the week if I have time and see about fitting a 5mm in there.

You could do three of your bolts, with flat top LEDs in them, spread across the top of the logo, powder coat them the same color as the fender.

Just trying to give you more work. We love to see what you come up with... PLUS - you always take photos.

This is what you could use for the logo:

This looks really strange to me. The front sprocket cover is perfectly flat and glossy, while the engine cover right next to it has a gentle curve and is painted with a textured semi-gloss black. Why not machine a step and a hole for the plexiglass into the stock pulley cover?

Maybe it looks better in person and this shot doesn't do it any justice.

The stock pulley cover is huge and it isn't thick enough to machine a step into. The client wants it minimal. Enough to cover the pulley from a safety standpoint but show as much as possible. I am planning on reshooting it with a textured powder when it comes in on Friday. I didn't like how the gloss turned out.

I don't have the capability to curve the piece to match although that seems to be everyones criticism on it. Not much I can do about it.

This is what he was planning on going with.
Image

Which looks like this on the bike.
Image

So I don't think he'll be too put off by it. He likes the fact it was handmade in a small shop. I would love to be able to mate it better, but without more time and more equipment it just isn't feasible.
