Re: Dream Come True
I could find bikes for under $4k when I was looking - unfortunately, they pic of the bike was with a guy doing a wheelie or a stoppie with it and the ad read "never stunted or rode hard" (I'm talking about the bike guys).
Nice purchase! I wish I could have found a Yamaha for a decent price.

Re: Dream Come True
Thanks guy's , Yea i somhow just ended up lookin at the r1 forum and just so happened to see the ad , so i said wtf registered on their forum .. the guy initally had it at 5500 when it said original owner it kinda caught my eye , figured its either babied or abused . One look at it the temptation of the devil <forgive me father for i am a sin> got into my blood .. I just hope it treats me as good as the FZR did .. another 6 yrs ill be gettin a new one in 2015 . In michigan riding season hasnt even started to get hot yet and im really thinkin if i put it on CL or ebay i could get 5K or more for it .. I have a passion for motorcycles all kinds but so far this is the best thing ive ever owned since gettin a brand new navigator back in 2000. Now to get some INSURANCE man this sucks ...i use to have a bad driving record when i was younger , enough said

Roger that bro. Nearly 2 years back i bought a 929 Blade, but it didn't get me to work a single minute quicker, and while it was better in may ways it was a retrograde step in others.Target30 wrote:if it doesnt say FZR on the side, it aint worth crap! shutup, mine will soon enough! helluva bike bro! i'm happy for you! just imagine all the time you wont spend working on it, and riding it instead.
gonna start building me an EXUP thou soon, solely cos I want a bit more room for my fat arse.

Re: Dream Come True
Eh? I had a ZX12R for a few days over winter (my mates garage had been burgled and he didn't want the bike kept there til he'd upped the security arrangements) and sure, it was quick, but hardly enough to make my eyes water. Running properly, a (UK spec) fizzer 6 is a near 11 second bike, ie, quicker than anything Ferrari make over the sprint. The difference between just over 11, and just under 10 feels awesome, but in relaity meant only I was tap dancing less on the gears. Still took 25 minutes dead door to door for work. Mind you, I'm the guy that passed his test at 17 and promptly traded my KMx125 against a GSXR1100 - now that's a jumo in performance worth having!
Tis why I sold the 929 (apart from being made an offer that allowed me to sell it at a large profit within a week of buying it) - the difference between car embarrasing quick, and "oh my God, I'm going to die quick" is largely inaccessible in public and didn't seem worth the extra insurance. I might've viewed it a little differently if the 'blade were a minter, but it weren't. Alas.
PS - not knocking your bike. She looks a beaut and you love her, that's all that counts.

Thanks for the compliment .. I wish i could ride a ZX-12R or the ZX-12A1 <heard thats big badass>Fartblood wrote:Eh? But if the 12R cant make your eyes water maybe its because it weighs over 500lbs compared to R1 400lbs
and only has like 10HP more .. I honestly think i would prefer the zx-12 layout and riding style better then a R1's . The R1 is a torque monster . But i dont care about that stuff .. I just want somthing that looks nice and gets me where i need togo safely . I will never top speed this thing .. it's not in my capabilities hell the FZR i topped it out the first day i bought it and never tried it again in 6 yrs of owning it . Redline First out on the R1 is mad scary when your just coming off a FZR 600 shit i've owned it a week and havnt redlined it yet .. it just wants to come up everytime the power goes over 6k
BTW in the first week of owning it , Ive bought a Akrapovic Slip-on w/ wrong mid-pipe>, Undertail w/turn signals ,flushmounts for the front ,Double bubble windscreen, Just ordered a hindle high-mount setup with no muffler, Disk Rotor Lock with built in alarm, And a Solo Seat cowl color matched ..<~~ used cost me 115 on ebay but its hard to find ..
Today i took out the front stock signals off and installed the smoked flushmounts <look pimp>, took off the undertail and the stock license plate big ugly thing awaiting the undertail wit signals .. so heres how she sits with no big blinkys on the front or rear & a Very nice Pipe ghetto rigged for time being till i get right setup going even though i will prob. put stock one back tomorrow .. sorry for shitty pik its off the camera on my phone ..
cant even see the front blinkers becuz they so flush man ..
more pics to come as it gets better

whats next? carbon fiber tank side fairings?
Re: Dream Come True
i would love to have those carbon tank fairing but there aint anything on my bike that has carbon on them . u start with one then it never ends . u know what i mean . but i did manage to buy 2 undertails and a solo seat cowl .. one undertail was cheap fiberglass and no clip grooves to mount to the tail won it on ebay for 60 .. the solo seat cowl ended up being for a 98-99 R1 instead of 02-03 .. i posted it on R1 forum and SBN<sportbikes.net> sold it for $50 more then i bought it off ebay .and it cost me 115 used . but i knew its rare and discontinued so somone might be lookin for it ..just so happend kid off another forum wanted it .. Then i ordered a hotbodies undertail buy itnow ebay 115shredex wrote:no one can keep there damn bike stock...stock parts for r1s are cheap as hell...I got my windscreen for $7 shipped...windscreen $1..shipping $6

installed it yesterday . was a pain in the ass as it wasn't as wide as the tail and had to push both side of tail in order to mate up but i tried to get it a flush and smooth as possible so nothing sticks out and the lines a crisp ..also mounted my plate down by the shock but when my big ass sits on the bike you cant see it ..i dont wanna put holes in my undertail my opt for a swingarm plate bracket . but if my stock undertail didnt have holes from the fender i would of just left it like that and bought a intergrated tailight . here what it looks like now .b4&after
So far i've bought
Akrapovic Titanium slip-on retails $550 for $100
Hindle high mount mid-pipe retails $300 for $70
Smoke windscreen $25
Flush mount signals $25
Solo seat cowl $115 didn't fit sold it
Ordered a Brand new solo seat cowl only one place in the whole world had it only one left $170 in the mail
2 undertail's $60<didnt use it and 115 hotbodies <installed
i have vortex billet mirro blocks off that i won on an ebay auction they like $50 gottem for $15 in the mail
frame sliders coming in the mail
a kryptonite Disk Lock guy said he paid $85 for it , got it for 20 bucks
A basicaly brand new helmet for $40 the damn smoked sheild cost me $35 dammit
and just this morning i sent a payment on a Mint Cond. GYT-R Titanium slip-on . Supposed to be a yamaha racing brand type
he initially was asking $250 in his original post . a month later he's sending to me for $110 shipped . cant beat that
after about close to $1,000 in after market parts all show no go , i hate this damn bike because i barely get to ride it ..
i could of sold it as is when i bought it and made a $1,700 profit but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
i had to have a bike ... Ehhhhh well i spent all my Paypal cash that i had from selling off other parts so this is probably it for long time to come ....ohh except i wanna do the rear veiw cam mod ... take off the mirrors ..AHHAHHHAAH

Re: Dream Come True
I love getting mail at work , Best thing i ever did was change my shipping address there.............
Well after searching the internet like a krazy lunatic , Then after buying a solo-seat cowl that was listed for 02-03 R1 on ebay and come to find out its not for my bike .. I looked on every web site moto-parts , also in the UK . No one had one claiming not made anymore discontinued and that no one shelves them no more , i come across SOLOMOTOPARTS.COM lo and behold they have one that doesn't say Not in Stock .. So i put in a order cost 189 but they had a $20 off this part and only in my color<dunno why, maybe fate>. Next day i get an email tellin me they dont have it and dont even know where to get their hands on it .. I swear i was heartbroken ,More then sellin the Fizz.. Then next day i get another email tellin me they located it was on wrong shelf rack .. Mads props to Solomotoparts for coming thru like a champ and fast shipping also ups priority . Then i ended up selling the wrong one for profit so it just made the deal sweeter ..
Piece of fiberglass or whatever it is that almost gave me a stiffy ..
