Hey shred, its great to know that you are interested in my rebuild, but I must ask 2 things of youshredex wrote:are you gonna get a hydrolic clutch also?

if possible, edit your post and add stuff, don't multiple post.
and second, please refrain from making my thread about you. You have a thread of your own, talk about your desire for a hydraulic clutch there.

Re: Zero9243's Rebuild (New Pics 11/16)
So zero came by this weekend and we had 2 solid days of motorcycle madness. This is what you can do with a little elbow grease. This was the Cobra F1s that he won on ebay for 9.99.
Before.

Inbetween.

After.

It took him a long time to get it that way but he now has one sweet ass polished and repacked F1s. Only thing left to do to it is add a badge. It's on it's way.
And for those of you who have one and would like to repack it, you can use our patented way of doing so. See, if you call or email Cobra they will tell you to drill the rivets out. Well, did anyone see ANY rivets in any of the pictures?? There are none. What you will need is a 1 1/16" socket, an extension, and a hammer. Slide the socket into the end of the can, insert extension and start pounding with hammer. It will force the inner sleeve from the outer and allow you access to the insides. Installation is the reverse of removal except you will need like a 30mm socket or so. Make sure you line up the inner tube with the outer tube at the end of the can before you start pounding it back in.
We did mine as well.

We also cleaned up our forks and ignitions.

Dillon also got his controls rebuilt after having the cases powdercoated.

This stuff is the best cleaner I've used on parts so far. The grease just runs off! Zep baby. Yeah, we sprung for the 5 gallon container....or maybe that's all they sold it in....

Dillon can hardly contain his excitement.

And then just some random shots...
Apparently Dillon was worried about getting SARS in my basement. I told him it wasn't that bad down there.

More pics of the hideously disfigured Vortex sprocket.

Just a few motorcycle parts down there..nothing to be concerned about. Oh and enough spray paint to kill a preschool (as Dillon put it).

What do you mean it looks like I'm starting a wheel and tire shop? Oh those...well I just like to have my options.

seriously, the amount of aerosol products he has down there is staggering. The picture doesn't really do it justice. bigger selection than auto-zone......

You and me both. I want it to be perfect and there's a lot of stuff that I want to do because i don't want to have to take the bike apart this much for a while. TK keeps me in line every time i come down with just how much work it really is.kikepiz wrote:I can't wait to see the outcome of the finished bike...![]()

I'm waiting here patiently and am gonna enjoy every minute. This is looking to be a good build just by what has already been shown. Don't worry about the riding time being missed because the feeling you will have when you DO get to ride and all of your efforts have fallen in line correctly will make it all worth it. Keep it up man.
