Finally bought it! 89' FZR 600

Post by Tyrone »

Finally after about a month of waiting to go buy this bike I got it!
Cost about 430 after everything was said and done.
I messed up and thought I had the bike strapped down tight enough and it dropped in the back of the trailer :( Busted the red plastic of the taillight off and crap but that was about most of the damage.
Replacing the chain, sprocket, back tire, getting it a new battery, flushing out the gas tank which I now found rust in ( any advance on getting rid of the rust?) and she should be good to drive.
23,000 miles on her. I think she still looks beautiful in her old age.

Looks like the plastics are in great condition!
Not seeing much rust so must of been sitting in a garage most if it's life.

Awesome deal. You got less work to do on it then my 89. And you got it for 200 less.

Looks good. I can help you out with the chain and sprockets. I could help you with the battery too if you wanted a nice lithium one. :) For rust in the tank you can either use phosphate etch (you can get it at home depot) or you can do it this way - http://www.instructables.com/id/Electro ... aka-Magic/

Either way will work, just depends on what you want to do.
