Do you leave the bike in the sun a lot? Some powders aren't UV stable and if it didn't get a clear coat it could have been affected by the UV. Hell even after clear coat I had it happen on a customers bike. No one can tell me why either. Sometimes things just get weird.

I'll make them all sexy again though.

i know you will! the bike lives in a garage, and actually saw almost no sun this year, since i had it apart. found an older pic that shows it was all nice and black at one point. weird, here is what it looks like now

Where better to drop your fizzer, on someone else's bike? @ least any fairing damage would be minimal :) When I dropped mine I through my leg in there to protect the fairings (seriously)

BAhaha haha!! Jim was definitely doing the crouching tiger. It was a good save! In Jim's defense, he has been bumming all summer with daddy duties, and no time to get out and ride. It was good to go for a rip with the old boy!

When do you start the cut sanding, polish, seal and wax? Are you going with a Grey decal scheme?

This is great.
There are so many projects I think about how cool it would have been to photograph only after I finish.
Good lookin' bike too.
Is that upper off the original 916?!
One of my all-time favorite front ends!
