Mostly everything is ready for the engine to get put back together, its just really hard for me to find time to get down to Nate's house now that school has started again. here's hopin' to have it driveable by november! Just in time to store it......
I am finding how many little things were missing from the bike now that I am putting it back together. Mismatched bolts all over the place, missing washers, rusty this, rusty that, etc.
Next time use egg crates and sticky labels for bolt ,put washers & nuts with is matching bolt.

It's not that I lost them, its that I never had them. I put all the parts I disassembled in individual plastic baggies that were labeled with what was inside

Battling with school and moving stuff to Nate's new shop and being able to get down there on the weekends. I got more hours at my good job so I ended up quitting the shitty weekend one which frees my saturdays up. I've already come to terms that the bike wont be finished until the spring, but all the more time to make her perfection!

So my bike rebuild didn't fall into oblivion, it just took the backburner as Nate's shop was getting set up. Here are the pics as the bike sits now. Not too much left to do yet.
Also, nate's new lift is so sweet, it was awesome not bending down to work on certain parts of the bike.
I'm getting a real good feeling about this thing getting finished up before the season starts!

At one point Dillon was bending over to tighten a bolt and I was like, "Dillon, just raise the bike." BAM, there it was at eye level. That thing is the best 300 I've spent in the shop. Well, besides the climbing wall perhaps.
On a technical note, does anyone know which sensor on our thermostat housing sends the temp to the dash? It looks like there are 2 sensors but in the repair manual they are listed as the thermostat unit and the thermostat switch and that's not too helpful

The thermal Unit should be the one sending the signal to the dash I believe.. It's the smaller of the 2 towards the back of the bike.. I'm not 100% sure, but either way, it's 50/50
The best way to check it is to run a continuity test from one end of it to the other. That'll tell you for sure which one of the 2 it is.

+5K on concentrating on SCHOOL the bike can be done in the rest of your life, unless you wanna be going to college for a 2nd degree at 50
Actually, I just graduated in december! Got a degree in Electrical Engineering, now I'm job searching! I still have my college job so I still have income, just looking for something better now.
but that means that I actually have more time for the bike so it's nice.
