I volunteered to replace a fuse on a the bike of a female friend with a CBR.......OMG that fairing was a PITA to get off. Needless to say I won't be doing anymore good acts of karma on Hondas

haha yeah honda fairings suck if if you do dwhat i did they become like old FZR farings and within 5 mins the bike can be faring less. i threw away all the inner fairings and cut off all the mounted inside also..its a breaze to make this thing naked now!

if you're really going to do that, sell the plastics at least. I don't think this bike will look good naked though, it's got radiator hoses in places I wouldn't want to drop it or have it hanging out. Kinda like why God put our skin on the OUTside.

you guys dont understand what i did. by nakes i mean when i need to have the fairings off it only take 5 mins if that to take them off now. i hate naked bikes. yam93 just take off your inside fairings the black things and throw them away, once you do that in less then 5 mins you canhave both fairings off to do oil changes or what not.

i'll check next time but i think part of my inside fairings actually hold a bunch of wires / wire harnesses for turn signals and other electrical crap... i'm not sure all what's in there. I can't do a Rubik's cube so it's the next best thing, plus keeps me at the garage longer and away from the complaining wife. You better keep those fairings for when you get married.

yeah, the fairing setups are pretty differant on the two bikes.. the 954 has an upper and a lower like the FZR (but doesn't come off easy).. The 929 has a 3 piece setup. On the 954 the inner fairing actually connects above the frame into the tank and crosses the frame and has "stuff" (ram air &electrical) in it..

i tore out the ram air ducts also...no way in hell is any good air getting in them...just another one of hondas stay away safty things...929 with no ram are looks really nice!
