1988 FZR 750R w/parts bike in Minneapolis, MN.

Post by formulazman583 »

I bought these two FZR's last fall with the intentions of making one good one but I have since moved onto another project. I will describe each motorcycle the best I can but they should both be considered "projects".

1988 FZR 750R - This is a former track bike that hasn't been used on the street or track in many years. Included are all of the parts to put it back on the street. I have the clear & clean title with current registration, license plate and two keys. It will need a full tune-up that should include a rebuild of the carbs plus a cleaning and sealing of the gas tank. It will also need tires, fork seals, brakes, coolant flush and a battery. The front brake calipers are seized but I do have replacement ones that are not installed yet. The mileage is unknown because there was no speedometer cable on it when I purchased it (but i have since installed one) and the former owner stated that it does have a fresh clutch. The body work has misc nicks, dings, dents, scratches and cracks but have been touched up and are useable. This will include the rear seat cowl (with one broken tab) and no lower half fairings. I have since used the tail panels for my new 750 project so it will come with soild white panels with no stripes. It has a factory Yamaha header with a competition only canister that is in very good shape. The seat is also in good condition with no rips or tears.

1988 FZR 1000 - This has been a street bike only that has 25,845 miles on it. This one does NOT have current registration or a license plate as I intended for it to be the "parts bike". It no longer has a battery but I did hear it run when I purchased it. I was unable to ride it at that time because of a slipping clutch. This bodywork is much better and is very presentable but far from perfect. It does have the full set of bodywork but no rear seat cowl. The bodywork is mounted with misc hardware not from the factory. The seat shows weather cracks and a hole half the size of a dime near the gas tank.. I have one key for it that works in the seat and ignition but not the gas tank. The rear tire is in good shape but the front is shot. It has a Yoshimura exhaust that shows wear and tear with minor scratches. The front turn signals are the flush mount style and the rear fender was previously modified.

I do have a few misc parts from the previous owners and that I collected over the winter that will also be included in the sale. These motorcycles are for sale by cash only. $3,200 or B/O. I'm not interested in any trades. I can take any additional pictures that you may like by request. I'm sure that there may be something I forgot so please ask any and all questions. For contact please email me at formulazman583@hotmail.com

They are currently listed on ebay at no reserve, if you are interested in possibly purchasing them take a look.
