FZR 4/600 hybrid for sale. sold... :-(

Post by Target30 »

Price change $3000 OBO

well, it might be time. i dont really ever get to ride her, and it is just sad seeing her sit on the stands in the garage. Really not sure what she is worth. Obviously more to me than what is is monetarily, but i just dont see myself having time to ride anytime soon. here are a couple of links to information on it, and a short list of mods. There are a few cosmetic things that i havent finished, namely the dash(has a working dash, but i was in the middle of making it prettier) and side panels that cover the birdcage. I have them, they just arent finished yet. She pretty much sits as she looks in my sig.

i dont have to sell her, but i'm starting to feel the time has come. was hoping for around $3500.00. stands included, plus a plethera of equipment, tires, anything bike related that i have.

hey mister ! that's one cool bike ! I have a 400/600 bike to sell too, but it isn't as "invloved" as yours likely was..You put alot of work into that bike. I feel "inadequate" putting mine up here for sale... it's a stock 400, with a 600 motor,SuperTrapp 4-1, and really nothing more. Dare I speak blasphemy, and say maybe you could get more of the money you seek, by parting it out ? Seems a shame, I'm your sure proud of it...but in todays BS economy, alot of folks have lost their pride...or try Ebay classifieds/auction. Winter/Christmas is coming. Don't be left out. Or you may have it til spring '12 ...yikes! good luck with it,whichever option you choose

thanks man, a couple of hits, but i actually steered them away, as it was going to be their first bike, and it really isnt a first bike type of thing. winter has come, so it will likely live in the garage until spring...only got on it 4 times this year, for a total of 7 miles...sad.
I did that.

nope, dont have time. kids go to daycare most days of the work week, i have to take them. weekends are spent working on the house, a project, or playing with kids. though this years it was weddings, or something not allowing me to be home to get anything done. realistically, i dont see it easing up anytime in the next few years. And i cant stand to see the bike just sit there, rotting away! though i do start it up from time to time, just to listen to her!
I did that.

i know how that is! Kids/family are all consuming.. It's a shame to hear and your bike is one of the best examples of what can be done to an FZR!

bringing this back from the dead....wife is working weekends, so unless i only want to ride to work, i wont get more than an hour of ride time this year...you all know the bike. i'll sync the carbs once i get it out of the garage. i did start her up the other day after winter storage. couple of cranks and up sh came. was a nice sound... anyhow, first $3000 takes her, or make an offer :(
I did that.

well, i have an interested buyer, and from the sounds of it, he would be a great fit for my bike. has done some mod work on cars before and sounds like he wants to give her a good home. syncing up carbs tonight or tomorrow(dear lord i hope!) will likely take her for a final spin through the backroads, and clean her up and get her ready for a new life. we shall see, every other thought is a second thought on selling her, but it is the right thing to do right now.
I did that.

Hello all, Im the one looking at Targets bike. I live in Burlington Vermont, the unique style of the bike will definitely get noticed around here. I hope to polish off all the unfinished tid bits and eventually have it show form to bring the bikes one of a kind look full circle.

Well, smash took my baby...he'll have his hands full with all the little things to finish her up, but she was running good when he left on it. Small issue on way home, shift linkage fell off! In over 10 years of owning the bike, that never happened to me! Anyhow, he Stashed it down the road, and picker her back up tonight, so she is in her new home with someone I am confident will give her the love and time I couldn't. My garage, though still full of a lot of crap, feels empty...
I did that.

Update on the bike. Gotten a lot of little odds and ends addressed, locked down all sorts of electrical connection and all the fairings, aligned the lights and spliced low/high beam, sealed header/muffler seam and locked down the intake box with a cleaned and oiled filter (Target must have forgotten to tighten the boot clamps after he synched the carbs :P ), changed oil and filter, wix filter and valvoline full synthetic, flushed the radiator and relocated the coolant overflow back to the tail, only took 6 feet of line and a "clean canteen" 18g stainless steel 14oz bottle and painted the windscreen black. Im sure theres a few more things I've forgotten but in my neck of the woods were looking at a week of rain... May be repainting the bike this week, white plastics, black frame, black or gold wheels and as much carbon as I can afford.

As far as riding, the full synthetic made a huuuuge power difference over whatever was in the pan, did a 1/4 mile run on my local straightaway and that fancy veypor claimed about 94 hp. Its got enough power to lift after 7500 now and the trz swingarm holds it about 3 inches of the deck, its starting to feel like a perfectly balanced bike.
