1978 Yamaha SR-500 Cafe Racer Kit bike
Asking $3,250. Bike is currently in Leominster Massachusetts
This bike is a ground up restore with kit parts added. This kit was bought out of Japan.
The engine was completely rebuilt to original Yamaha Specs, using all original Yamaha parts.. I have receipts for all parts used.
In total there is about 5600 usd into this bike. I just need out of it what I have into it. Anothers loss is your gain.

Upgraded Parts List
New cables
The exhaust is by Super Trap
Rear shocks upgraded to Hagon
Solo cafe seat and fiberglass tank styled after the British AJS
Frame, Swing arm, brake calipers, battery box, wheels triple clamps and all other misc frame parts power coated gloss black
Forks were completely rebuilt and the lower tubes powder goated a gun metal grey.
Rear Fender/tail light/plate assembly custom style from the Japanese kit
Side covers from the kit are fiberglass
Custom clip on bars
Custom guages
Never used Dunlop tires (a year old)
Custom top tripple clamps
Custom cowling/windscreen
Custom rear sets
New sprockets and chain
Misc chromed parts for accent
Custom top clamp/damping knob
Rebuilt brake calipers
Stainles Steel Brake lines
New Grips
Custom mirror
Engine was painted with high temp paint
New brake pads a well as a few sets of used but like new sets of pads that came with the bike
Rebuilt carb with original Yamaha rebuild kit
Things left to do to complete.
1) Hook up the electrical harness, coil, directionals etc..
2) Fit in the light
3) Hook up the cables
4) Install the cowl/windshield.
5) I left the long screw on the super trap exhaust so plates could be added or deleted and the bike tuned before the bolt is cut to size.
6) The levers and brake master cyclinder needs to be installed and lines attached brake fluid installed brakes bled.
7) finish hooking up the rear sets to the brake system in the rear.
8) Give the bike a front to rear check on the bolts that are installed
If you know anything about this bike or have a shop manual you should be able to finsih this up in about two days of time.
I simply ran out of time on this trip.
I HAVE THE PARTS NEEDED to finish this project.
Standing Firm at $3,000 USD. The kit alone was $4k and I tallied up about 5700.00 usd so far into this thing. My loss your gain.
