Hi all,
Ive very nearly finished a project bike (fzr400) to put on the road until guess what, it failed its MOT on the break discs, easy to change yep! but easy to find a pair of front break discs to fit my bike, no!
So basically my question is this.
Does anyone know where id be able to pick up a pair of
280mm diameter dished break discs for this model as the genuine yamaha part costs £300 each!

& then i still wouldnt know if they would fit as yamaha dont seem to do detailed specifications of their parts.
Ive scoured high and low and not had much luck, ive checked out the brembo website as they have a pretty good catalogue system but theres no match of front discs for my model.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks, Matt

Hi again, just been rooting around a bit more and ive managed to locate the discs that will fit.
They are of EBC make and are 282mm in diameter.
The product codes are MD2022LS (LEFT SIDE) & MD2022RS (RIGHT SIDE)
probably about £150 to £170 each but some of you might know where to get them cheaper.
Just thought id put this up in case anyone else got stuck in my predicament.

Check with a member that goes by the handle Roaddogma. He may have an extra set of these rotors laying around. He's a good guy and is always willing to help out. Post from the U.S. might be $20 - $30 but it will still be MUCH more cost-effective than buying new rotors.

Just in case you're offering up 3EN or 3TJ rotors -
I don't recall the diameter of the 1WG rotors off-hand but I'm fairly certain that they are slightly smaller than the 3EN or 3TJ units (which I believe are the same as the 3HE 600 rotors). Aside from that, the 1WG carriers are mounted flush with the braking surface (as opposed to offset, as is the case with every other 400).

The 3en1 is ok as they are ~280mm (they just use the 4 piston calipers like the 90 US model 400), it's the 3en2 that are 300mm and wouldn't work.

'90 US model FZR400 rotors are offset differently than the previous 1WGs with the 2-piston callipers. Thus, will not interchange. I have replied to your PM.
