Hi,
well along with that for those of you using a different tank making the original seat need modification to fit .One of the crew used PolyMorph .
For those of you not familar with that stuff (google, Ebay,Make magazine, Instructables ) it is basically a plastic granulated in 0.125" balls which when dropped into water over 60 degrees turns clear and is then moldable by hand. The guy used his original seat plastic and built onto it to get the shape.he said be sure to "dunk" the polymorph regularly when working it.
When cold it does flex and turn white, can be drilled tapped, sawn an most important with a seat it will take staples !

Oh and another Bod used it to make casting buck for his F'glass side panels

I googled "PolyMorph" - looks like it works a little different than you stated... lol

BACK ON TOPIC >> The melting point is 60 C / 140 F. I would certainly have concerns with use on a motorcycle because it can easily become moldable over and over again when heat is applied - that would not be good.

Don,
+5 on that LoL.
The guy used it on the forward edges of the front seat where it meets the edge of the tank in a wrap around. the second seat was totally made of PolyMorph material and this is in the North west part of Australia so it does get warm and so far almost 12 months ie thro their summer it has held up well to everyday use.

The other one used it as mold for fibre glass and as replacement panel on a 70's bike. he did say not too mix the resin "too hot" ie quick setting which does generate considerable heat !
