I rode a GSXR the other day

Post by zero9243 »

My friend just got a 2003 gsxr 600 and he let me take it for a spin. The thing had a real smooth ride and great acceleration. Definitely had my fzr beat in that aspect. But then I took a few corners fairly hard and was weaving a bit on the freeway and i feel like the fzr just felt way better in the turns. Like, it had a lighter feel to it that i could throw around easily. then again it could be that i'm not used to riding that bike and i'm really comfortable on mine. What do you guys think?

I would say you are used to and know your FZR well enough to know what to expect from it certain situations. Plus it's probably set up for YOU whereas the gixxer isn't.

agreed. that being said, i've ridden a few different bikes in my day and there are noticeable differences in each. i rode a buel blast for the msf course, then ended up getting my ninja 250 (fantastic lightweight bike), a buddy of mine had a '99 gsxr600 (definitely felt like a bigger bike than it was, fairly wide), and i've ridden my friends 2002 r1 a few times (i WILL get one of these one day, they have everything i like: narrow nimble feel, LOTS of power, and great handling).

its funny, my fzr feels like a bigger ninja 250, but then again its probably because i'm used to how it feels. :shocker

If you call a dead fox TC and bent dogbone set-up for him then the FZR is custom tailored! :whistle

The GSXR is heavier and wider so that is going to affect turn in. Especially with fatter rubber on there. My buddy had a Honda 919 and rode my bike when I first got it and LOVED the ease that it tipped into corners. The FZR just corners well. Now get some power under there and it's perfect.

So many different emotions come over me when i read your responses. but the most dominant one is sadness. I really..... i really thought you and I had something. Something special. But when you cut me down like that, you don't know the damage you really do. Maybe knowing that I am sitting at home crying for hours because of the things you say will make you think twice before you respond.

Oh baby, you know I love you. I don't know why I say the things I do. I don't mean to hurt you. Come back to me baby, I won't cut you deep again. :Kick
