What's up with sportbike riders?

Post by zero9243 »

I drive my motorcycle 20 miles to work and 20 miles back 4 days a week, rain or shine, and also everywhere else providing i don't have to carry anything big. I see 100 harleys a day it seems like, most of them commuters, and prob. 1 sport bike. It's like, sport bike riders don't ride unless it's 80 degrees and sunny out, and only then do they ride down by the lake to show off their bikes and try to pick up chicks. it really pisses me off because it seems like all of the sport bike riders here are just riding because it looks cool, not because they actually enjoy riding.

Me personally, i can't get enough of it (riding, that is).

dude its always been that way haha. only ever see a few (real riders) they come out at night to show off. ive do it also and my new bike is a result of going to really show off to them bastards. i went 2 weeks riding my bike only, i had to stop because the cords were showing on my front tire so i cant ride until i throw me new front end on now.

i knew this one guy a 929rr eirron edition and he said if its over 85 he wont ride cuz it to hot. if its under 75 its to cold for his tires...i was like WTF...only 2K miles on a 01 929rr...thats wrong and he bought it brand new also!

Most of them are squids too. In my town I'd think i'd have a heart attack if i saw one with a helmet. I usually just laugh when one of them comes up behind and starts reving their engine. I know i could out ride them any day of the week and twice on sunday

Driving in the rain terifies me personally. Hell, puddles scare me. I rode my bike more of winter when I got it couple years back. Now I only ride during the summer because I'm at school rest of the year and don't trust my bike up there.

Being in a cage makes me feel so trapped after riding for weeks on end on the bike.

I for one am offended! Have you seen my bike? All I do is ride that thing around to show it off and attempt to pick up some vagina. RRBike LADIES!

And now on a more serious note... Yeah it sucks but that's life. Most sportbikes are for show. You give someone a 6k price tag for a rocket and you get some morons that can't handle it but can afford it. That translates to I did this for pussy or for my own ego. The general population is dumber than the general population in prison. When popularity became the driving force of people's lives the rules changed. A motorcycle is not about helping the environment. It's about being a badass. I've mentioned to people I have a bike because I get 50mpg and they've stopped listening after bike. I get back, "You ride a motorcycle? That's hot." "Your badass points just jumped 50 points."

Personally I ride because it's better for gas and cheaper than therapy.

Zero,
Most HD riders know how to keep the bike from getting real dirty and if it is they love the bike enough to clean it,
The average Placcy bike rider is there because it is sold as KOOL. but 9/10 just about knows how to put gas in it the rest is done by the stealership. wash it yup with a power washer thats it

Why do i ride ? cheaper than a shrink screwy

Well, ya know, to each his own. Let's face it, some people are just ... you know, the other word for vag that rhymes with wussies. On the other hand, as I get older, especially after the back surgery and more recently the crash, in my mind I think I'd like to try to avoid hot and very cold weather, but I rarely do, well, let's face it, because my badass factor is so high.
:grinnod: LOL2 :P
(as if)
But... like today, i came home from work and although 80% of my brain and 50% of my body wanted to go ride, general laziness and being tired from work won-out and landed my old ass on the couch. Oh well, I figure I saved miles and gas, and, around here especially, probably avoided that mid-week-got-killed-on-a-motorcycle-because-of-rush-hour-traffic problem. Kinda like killing several birds with 1 stone. Obviously gas is cheaper than therapy here too
(oh really now? screwy :headscratch: )

Anyway, and I was excited to get on here and see if TK had sent the modified R6 header yet. Which my wife just browbeat me about, well, the FMF pipe and some other stuff too, let's face it, try as I might, she does pretty well trying, but just doesn't completely understand motorcycles. I'm not really totally obsessed, just 97%. I mean, I DO go to work almost every day, and I pay the bills, AND flush the toilet, and occasionally help clean up. I'm not totally worthless.
ClapHands WOOT :hyprocrite
So, I forgot the point but..... oh yeah..... well people ride when they can. Look at it this way....... more road for us. And... the other reason I don't use my bike to go to work is that I'm afraid of someone stealing or damaging it. Today somebody's car got whacked in our parking lot at work, so you can see my reason for paranoia. And you know... they're my babies !!! (obviously nobody can tell I had white zinfandel tonight)

I almost laughed my a$$ off the road in my "rolling cage" yesterday. It was hot, and yes I was being a pussy because I wanted the A/C. Then I saw this dude on Gixxer with Flip-Flops and shorts (that's it).

Poser = Squid

IMO of course.

Yam,
by the time you reach my age you will be ready for the rocking chair on the porch <BG>

The 4 years I had to go without being able to ride was like prison. Most of it I was virtually house bound and it was driving me F'ing nuts hence the wife agreeing to let me put my ride in the lounge and take it apart spending probably twice what it is worth on Franken-bike bits ( see my sites yellow peril saga ) when i was finally given the all clear by the numb nut MD's she bought me a bike to ride just to keep me sane and civilised (any old soldiers out there will know what I mean by pacing the halls at night ).

I ride any day I can with her without her rain sun all the same snow I am not sure about cause it doesn't do that too often round here and i think the power of the FZR would have me thinking twice I know for a fact i do not bounce as well as i used to (judo class taught me that)

Yeah, I find that if I don't ride often enough, I become a pretty crabby (not good to be around) bastard.
:Kick
Yeah, I probably will be ready for a nice rocking chair by then. Hopefully not too much though. I have a friend who is 60 and he's still one of the best motocross guys out there, especially for his age. He's as fast as me, which isn't terribly fast, but I mean come on! at that age! Awesome!
