FZRSupport: the FZROnline Archive

I bought mine early 1997. It's been a good bike so far. I've had it to a mechanic once for a valve adjustment and fork seals. With the help of a buddy we put new rings and lapped the valves because I had to fix a stripped plug hole. The other stuff is just regular maintenance.

So all in all I'm going on 13 years...........

Dragged home my first FZR in late 06. A 92 single light 600 that was seriously beat but turned out it ran great. Then dragged home my 1000 in late 08. Sold the 600 shortly after that and still have the 1000 with no plans for it to leave me

Man she looks beautiful & very well maintained, you've obviously taken care & given her much TLC.

I've had mine since April 2009 (around 18 months), the knowledge gained VIA this forum has proved to be invaluable.

Hence she don't look like this now, but will look better (I hope) when I paint the T-Cat tank/R6 Tail, throw the 400 3EN swinger on, & some nice shiny powder coated pieces

I bought my 95 in 2009. My buddy got back from Iraq and said "Let's buy bikes." So he wen to the bank and pulled out 6g and we went onto craigslist and looked at every bike in the stl area. 14 hours later he had an 02 r6 and I had mine. Then I stumbled across the archives and then fzrbrandon told me about over here and I have been gaining knowledge ever since.

Got mine Feb 2008, dropped it two weeks into riding on my first long ride. Here she is as I got her, post wreck but there was no additional damage from my wreck



with the paint job, the missing bottom bolt would later allow the front to get loose in that ride. A nice guy in a truck went home and came back with some hardware when he saw me looking for something to use on the side of the road. As people that nice often do he wouldn't even take any money



as it stands now, me being camera shy



I have a compressor now that I can paint with so I'm playing with ideas for a non rattle can paint job to bring back some of her glory

Its cool to hear your guys history on your bikes.

I bought my '98 in late July 2009. With 1,300 miles on it!
It has close to 11k now and beside a planned valve check this winter, I haven't had to touch it.

I dregged my 600 home in Nov of 07, out of the back of a dudes carshop/polebarn. I'm *still* finding barn dirt on it

cleaned and reseated the carbs, bled the brakes and rode it mostly that way for a year before starting the rebuild process

Bought my first one in 95, only had it a couple of months before a teenager decided it would be fun to have me t-bone her(insert lewd joke here) by turning in front of me.

Bought my second one, which is sorta the one i still have...sorta...in 2001. started modding. bought a 92 for my wife, a couple years ago, sold it pretty quick for profit. bought a 400 3 years ago for the frame and other bits to make her what she is today. oh, bought a 1000 cheap, fixed the carbs and sold it off for a small profit last year.

Bought my 94 about 10 years ago. I haven't ridden it since I bought my VTX 1800 in 02. I have been thinking about getting it out lately. Needs body work and carb work now I am sure. Can't wait to dig into this site for this years winter project. Currently trying to decide on what type of body to put on her. I first plan was factory front with airtech tail. But after seeing a few of the naked versions, not so sure.

after trading it back in 03 for a brand new 50 inch pioneer plasma screen valued at $10k back then only to find out the plasma screen didnt have a TV tuner i demanded a trade back , said WTF i dont need a 50 inch comp screen . Then the kid said i cant trade back because i dropped the bike ? WTF its only been a day . So i found a buyer for the screen , had the kid pay for my damages from the sale bought couple things myself and after said n done with the bike looked like this .




then bought a spare set of wheels and decided to pilish the lips




afterabout couple yrs got kinda sick of the little 160 rear tire so decided to swap out the swingarm and wheel from yzf600r
and got this







Ended up selling the bike for $2500 with over 34k miles
2 weeks later new owner comes to me at my job crying cuz somone stole .. it .. sucks i felt worse for the bike then the owner

then i bought a 2002 r1 in march 09' by august 09' somone decided they wanted it for themselves and stole my pride n joy
then bought a CBR929rr all blinged out for $2,500 ended up selling in July for $4300
Bought a crashed up 07 R1 at a aucion for $4k somone paid me 1,000 more right there on the spot i couldnt resist was gonna take another 2k just to fix it up
No i ride a E55 AMG benzo and cant decide what bike to get , might just find me another fzr and Mod the hell out of it

Gezzz. I've only had my 1k since early March, sold My 1986 FZX pride and joy that I restored and modded and fell in love with my new baby... But I've been getting the wrench itch again so I'll be modding the shit out of it this winter.
