Steering Damper for FZR 400 frame
Could somebody advise what is the best steering damper for our FZR 400/600 race bike? Cheers Rusty Demon.

Most racers swear by Ohlins, but Shindy/Daytona has a good solution for FZRs.

FZR400 (1WG): Purchased a perfectly good FZR400 with Yoshimura slip-on/EXUP, Yosh jet kit, Factory ignition advance, Racetech springs and emulators. It even had great bodywork. Like some diseased maniac I had to mess with everything good about that bike. Well, at least I have better brakes now.
FZR400RR (3TJ):Yeah, it's pink.

I might have been able to help but I have no idea where in the world you are,as this list goes from New Zealand in the east to Hawaii in the west, which is why the list asks for a LOCATION in your Personal Profile.
Models vary depending where in the world you are in America they only got one model FZR400 but Europe got 4.
FZR 600's came with two different sets of shocks depending on year.
None of this helps if you do not give us the best information you can ........................

Gotta love the Worldwide Web! Sorry, I really need to update my profile. Regardless, I don't think my location would have helped much. I am in the States, but I have both U.S. FZR400 (1WG) and FZR400RR (3TJ) models. It's all kind of academic, though. I'm not the one looking for a damper. I was responding to the OP with the Shindy/Daytona info. Naturally, this would be most helpful to rusty if he were also in the States.
If it were me, I would fabricate something to mount the damper to the fairing stay bosses on the front of the steering head and use one of Daytona's fork mounts to attach the damper arm to the fork tube. They actually have a kit that is similar to this concept.
