i've been thinking about painting my exhaust to a white, with like black stripes across the can. (not lengthwise) any opinions? would it looks tacky?

I wouldn't do it, even hi temp paint on the exhaust is eventually gonna look like crap

How hot does the exhaust get? i think that was the point. the paint will degrade over time.

Did you mean painting just the end can?

I know my can doesn't get to hot (only warm), it's damaged now, wasn't me honest :whistle so high temp paint may be OK but i ain't checked/tested! best left alone. unless your in the know, could screw up a decent looking can.

as for looking tacky, thought all you youngsters were shit hot with photoshop etc, and you could tell the oldies (me) what was tacky :)

is that cobra F1S (saw that in you introduction thread) can aluminium/alloy? i'd try polishing it if so. test polish on the underside where it wont be visible?

Bike looks great as is.

That can is aluminum and could be polished. Or you could send it over to me and I could powdercoat it white. You could do the black stripes with vinyl stickers. :D

If you do it powdercoat it, TK can give you a fair price

otherwise, besides it fading away i'm thinking it might be a good thing....here's a quick photoshop

and how much would you charge to powdercoat? im only looking at doing this as a temporary measure, until i can buy a new exhaust.

also thank you fizzinator for the photoshop, but thats really not what i had in mind for the stripes. i'll do some photoshopping and show ya. ;]

that bike looks clean as hell .. thats how mine looked when i first brang it home same color scheme .. too bad it didnt stay that way for long ..
As for the pipe i would recommend if you decide to color it .. keep it one solid color .. you could always give it the brushed metal finish look if it wont polish up ..from the pic in your sig it doesnt seem to bad ..

I'd do it for $60 shipped back to you with the black stripes done in there in a gloss black powder.
