what is a power commander

what is a power commander or what ever ther calld. what ARE THAY FOR AND WHAT DO THAY DO? JUST WONDERIN THATS ALL BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE OR out. JUST HERD OF THEM A FEW TIMES BEFORE

A Power commander is a computer that you can use on a modern bike with fuel injection. It gives you the posebilety to alter the pre- programmed injection and ignition maps in the bikes cpu,to cope with a race-exhaust and/or other mods. Also it smoothens out any low points in the power curve that may be there due to the strick anti pollution regulation. Should make the bike run smother with better throttle response and possibly a little gain in power.
