yamaha fzr 1000 clutch problem

Post by chopper »

hi there

i have a fzr 1000 93 model and did not drive it for a while. last time i did and parked it everyting was working fine and had no problems.
when i started it today i had no clutch on it. i opened the clutch fluid reserviour and although there was clutch fluid in it it was low (about 1/4 full) and i topped it up and closed it. but still no clutch
if any 1 knows what and where the problem isi'll appreciate it if u can advise me on where or for what to look out for.
im not a mechanic or so but know a littlebit about engines.
thank you for your help

I would first bleed out the clutch (the slave cylinder is on the left next to the sprocket cover) and see. Also change the oil and let it warm up with the fresh oil it in. The clutch plates can sometimes stick together if the motor sits for a long time with old oil in it.

Hope that helps.
