Just trying to gauge interest in these to see if it would be worth the time to have them designed and made...

Brandon,
In this age, I would say that would be dependant on cost at 150 a pair not likely but at 50 and below I would say they would sell.

Might I suggest you get a good design and then you submit that to the list so not only can you get a local quote but us furriners might take a look by them to and see what is cost efffective for the group. China-racer Steve has some good contacts as do I and a couple of others here

Geo,

I'd be making them. We are looking for the most simple design so I can actually get them to production. Brandon has the JEM adjusters and would be taking them off the bike to get me measurements and pictures. Just seeing if it's worth the time. I think I could keep it in the 75 range depending on design and what has to be done.

Yep, What TK said.

A LOT of guys have been asking about these things lately so obviously the more interest there is, the lower the potential cost can be.

B,
you may have been right late last year but this is AFTER christmas when every male I know is complaining of being hung over & / or broke.

I would still like to see the design before they are made ..................

I'm sure there are others out there who are interested. They probably have the same issue I do being this is the first time I've seen this thread even though it has been up since Monday. Try changing the title of the thread. Maybe people won't skip over it then.

As for the question, I'm not going to vote because I don't want to skew the results. My personal discission is to swap forks instead.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. However, I figure if someone is showing interest in purchasing something it means they've probably got the money to spend on it. It's not like Christmas was a big surprise or anything! LOL! Anyway, I just want to make sure there's enough interest in this before I pull mine off and go through the trouble of taking pics and taking measurements. If I do it, I want to do it right so Nate has some decent "blueprints" to base his design on. It wouldn't be a "scratch it out on a paper-napkin" kind of thing. Also, I'm sure he would like there to be a good number of solid "Yes, I want them" replies before he goes through the trouble. Nice little Catch-22, eh?

Well I worked on a set last night. Needed to go to the shop anyway. I have the design down, but it's getting it right with my semi retarded lathe. They are going to be a simple 4 piece design. Bolt, cap, block, and o-ring. I will need original fork caps in order to modify them for this endeavor. I have a few sets of spares so if people are interested in this, just so you know in advance, it would be a core exchange type of deal. I'll send you an all ready to go one but I'll need your fork caps back. If I do it this way I can do it much cheaper for you guys.

My first one was a slight fail as I mixed some measurements in my head but it's a very simple fix. I have everything in my shop to do it pretty much. The bolts I'm using are a 13 threads per inch instead of the 20 per inch the model I'm using uses. I don't mind changing that but I can't find any local with a higher tpi. I don't think anyone will miss it much. You'll still have over an inch of preload adjust.

I'm really trying to come in at ~75 for you guys to make these affordable. I'm modeling them off a lockhart quik-adjust that a friend had on their forks. I'd still like to see the JEM brandon, but if you don't get around to it no worries.

I'm thinking there will be the option to mix and match colors for powder for an additional fee. Otherwise they will all probably be black. I'll post some pictures up a little later.

Dude! You rock! That was really quick. Glad you found a set to use as a model. You've now inspired me to get off my arse and do my part! LOL! I'm heading out to the garage in a little bit here so I take some pics while I'm out there. I'm helping MarkD with some fork stuff so it probably won't be until early evening that I can get them put up.

If they're in the $75 range you can count my "Probably So" answer to a "Definitely Yes"
