i was thinking about buying a dyno jet kit for my fzr400 but i have never put one or had one on a bike so i just thought i would ask on here wether thay are worth the money and wether thay are any good

Wayne,
You can install one by all means but try getting the bike DYNO'd first then listen to what the tech tells you about your carbs.

One thing to buy that WILL definitely help the carbs is the new needle jet replacements the old brass Yamaha ones are most likely worn as they seem a tad soft and go oval. This is on my hit list for the year.

geo what do you mean get it dyno,d first? i thought you just buy the kit and put it in.

i think its that every engine behaves differently and just cause you put a jet kit in doesent mean youll get better performance. and with the dyno youll get a map of the power curve and a before and after to see what works best

It's really a toss up. Half will say dynojet is better and half will say factory pro is better. I think it just comes down to fine tuning. I have Dynojet in my bike and have never had an issue. I also didn't drill the diaphram like it says to do.

As for the brass things... I think George meant to call them emulsion tubes. They get worn down into an eggshape over time and end up causing all sorts of irregularities. Factory Pro makes some Nickel plated ones that aren't supposed to oval out like the brass does. Be prepared to drop 100 on them though.

Actually, needle jet = emulsion tube. Regardless, Geo WAS probably drinking again...

Off topic - let me know if you need the pics / measurements for the preload adjusters.

I'm more of a fan of Factory Pro's jet kits as their numbering system makes more sense to me (personal preference) BUT there really isn't much difference as both products pretty much achieve the same result. I will admit Dynojet has a more user friendly website.

+1 on that. I think I'd go against factory pro just because of their website. They have to be making a good amount of money, I'm pretty sure they can hire a web designer to update that thing.

thanks lads i feel abit beter now ivfound a place in preston that have a dynojet kit ther for £116 so i mite go and have a look andsee what the crack is.

English translation of emulsion tube is needle jet :-}

I think this is actually more of a Factory Pro thing (calling them emulsion tubes, that is). The manuals all say "needle jet". Besides that, I've talked to guys at shops about them and when I said "emulsion tubes" they looked at me like, "Huh???". I then proceeded to clarify by saying "needle jet" and they went, "Oh, needle jets". LOL! Whatever... Back to drinking...

I have been looking at these,is there a differance between stage 1 & 3 for the 600?
Forgive my simpleness,but i thought these were to change the jetting(fueling)if you changed the exhaust?
Do they give more power?

yamster that a good question because i havean akrapovik can on mine that was of an r1 and iv not notest any difrents apart from ppl saying thay get woke up by my bike when i go out somewer at night

Oh yeah-i got a bike that had a carbon race can on it,wooe-it was loud ,put it straight on ebay .
Had a mbx80 that had the baffles out when i were younger-put me off noisy exhausts for life kid i bought it off said it gave an extra mph,you could hear me coming from mexborough.Bet your neighbours love yer
Sorry all-speaking without thinking.Looked up dynojet and now i have a better idea.Looks like stage 2 is what i would want.
