Went to a job the other day, a stolen motorcycle dumped in the middle of a local park. Anticipating having to drag it half a mile through the snow to a road so the recovery truck could take it away I enlisted the help of Big John, all 6'7" of him, a bobby from a neighbouring beat.

Well, what we found almost had me in tears. A 1990 FZR600 on a 'G' plate, one of the rare EXUP UK models with the later forks and brakes, but the earlier straight swingarm. Less than 10k miles, and apart from the damage the little sh*ts that stole it inflicted it look uber tidy. The plastics especially looked superb, other than the TWOC damage. The owner seemed less than concerned and didn't report it missing til 2 days later.

I'm half tempted to make the owner an offer, and pay the recovery fee and have it for myself, but I think the missus'd brain me if I came home with another fizzer before I'd finished rebuilding the current one!

That's a nice looking scheme, people will steal anything though not just the gsxr's and cbr's. A kid on a local forum had his ninja 250 stolen. I think it was an 89

That bike looks to be in very good shape.

If you can get some details of where to make an offer,i am more than willing to buy that.Any details would be greatly apprieciated.
I think loss of a finger on conviction of theft is a more apt punishment,how many times would people repeatedly steal things then?
I had my brand new(45day old)AR80 stole in 89,devastated was an understatment!

I feel sorry for you guys, my first father in law on my wedding day handed me his daughter & a Rattan (think Hickory switch) said the two were required for a good marriage.

When I got married again I forgot the old mans advice so I married again remembered the Tammeran switch 30 years later with the same girl and the switch hangs behind my study door still.

I'm back at work on the 27th, so I'll give the guy a call and see what he wants to do. He seemed completely disinterested, so with any luck he might let you have it if you settle the bill for recovery (c.£130ish IIRC). I'll PM you with what he says. Oh, it's in Northampton (off J15 M1) if that matters to you.

And yes, totally stock, right down to the little Datatag labels. Apart from some very minor surface rust on the subframe I couldn't spot and pre-theft marks on the bike. A real beaut.
