It's a two stroke diesel, which has some pretty interesting anatomy, not to mention power.

Two stroke diesels have been around a very long time...about as long as internal combustion has been around.

The last I knew, the most efficient I.C.E.'s on the planet were fixed/constant speed two stroke diesels-they use them for power generation and for pipeline pumps for the most part. Also, some of the largest I.C.E.'s made are two stroke diesels (ships, power generation).

About half of them are forced aspiration-often with roots blowers mounted right on the side of the cylinder block. Last summer I got to help work on a biig bi-directional tractor (allis-chalmers?..nah..some other hyphenated name tractor company----pale green with stripes...). It was a supercharged two stroke diesel.....AIR-COOLED!!! each cylinder had about a zillion cooling fins and shrouding like an aircraft engine...

If it was steam like the one at Kew or the water works at Sunbury which have 90" & 100 inch diameter pistons yup
