Hi,
Ok we have been looking at ways to help out our younger member(s) perhaps the more experienced of us have "stuff" in closets we do not use but just have not had the heart to throw out or put on Flea bay.

What i am thinking of is to have you all to look around the house for kit you do not use (too small etc) and note it down here and a site director /moderator in your area hold it and distribute to members on this list & by general concensus of the lift as and when needed ?

This is just an idea what do you think?

Sounds good to me.

I've only been riding for a little over a year, so I don't have any stuff I don't use, though I have been thinking of getting rid of my Icon Mainframe helmet to get a smaller size (fit well new, but too large now that it's broken in). Can't really give it away ($330 new) but I could sell it for alot cheaper than new.

As far as free stuff, I have a set of steel toe work boots I'm gonna retire soon that someone can have if they'll fit; US size 10.5 EEE (extra wide). A few issues with the sole of one, but still covers your foot and better than tennis shoes.

The gloves I don't use aren't worth much, as they don't have any wrist retaining strap (thus why I quit using them). Mechanic's gloves would be better to use than they are.

I have an old Bates 2piece (zip together) track suit.

When I was 135 pounds it fit me. (29 or 30 inch waist-36-38 chest, 5'9" or so)

It is grey with a single black stripe up each side.

The waist zipo needs fixing, and one (oops, both) knees needs re-stitching.

It is NOT a beauty....BUT it IS three layers of Bates leather where you need it. Mesh nylon liner is in decent shape. No velcro for knee pucks-but that could be added by whoever re-stitches the knee. NO HARD armor---minimal padding in hips/butt/knee/shoulders/forearms..stretch panel in lower back.

Shipping cost would take it.

You will likely fit in it, shred.

The waist zip needs repair..you could always have a 'filler panel' made to zip onto the upper and lower pieces.

I could cram it in a large USPS flat rate box for 13.95.

Ask her if her machine can stitch layers of thick leather....it usually takes a serious serious sewing machine....cast iron I am talking here! My local seamstress CANNOT do it...she says a machine that does that will run $2-3k. She referred me to a booot repair shop a couple towwns over. You may need to do the same.
will you take a money order though?
Yes. Will pm you my street addy

I dunno if this is something easy to come by, but I *desperately* need an air jet for one of my carbs. While disassembling them to clean, I noticed that one is just flat out missing.

This thread is supposed to be for rider gear/safety equipment.

More people will see your need if you post this in 'items wanted'

I would love too, but I'm kind of a rookie myself. I have about 1100 miles under my belt and am still trying to come across a decent pair of pants and riding boots.
