So I've never been into the whole cafe racer style bike in the past, but they're really growing on me. If college wasn't rapin me and I had money I would absolutely love to build one. I've just been spending the last few hours lookin at em all. I'd like an excuse to wear leather goggles too haha.
Any of you guys have any cafe racers?

yamaha_george you're prolly an old school cafe racer aren't ya? lol

actually lately i've been thinking about getting a smaller secondary bike for commuting to spare the fzr a little , and i'm thinking i'll cafe it , but i'm probably going to go 2 stroke with it . there's an old suzuki gt380 out back i'm thinking of using .

as far as riding them goes they're just like any other old jap bike , they just look cooler . mine didn't have the clubman bars on it , but i had those really low rise daytona bars on em so it was a bit more upright . there isn't much you can do to make those seats comfortable since there's like half an inch of padding at most . the seat i got was decent but it wasn't a long ride kind of bike . aside from that it was like any other 70's or early 80's jap bike ....tho the early cb750's had a bit of a head shake problem , if i'd kept it i was going to look into a damper . my only problem with it was it was too slow , only 63hp , i needed more oomph so i got the fzr . and i still have my old triumph chopper that's been sitting here waiting for paint for like 3 years , tho after riding the fzr and seeing what it's like to actually turn and stop i'm kinda spoiled now and don't really have any drive on the triumph project .

My buddy and I were at a Harley shop today cuz he's lookin at geting one. Ran across a Nightster(sp?), it was all flat black with a tad of pin strip on the tank. Very cafe racer esque...really liked it.
