BAD IGNITION SWITCH!!

Post by The Usual Suspect »

So I'm running Angeles Crest this weekend and my bike (93 FZR600) shuts down! YIKES!
After some study of the problem I noticed that it shuts down when I turn bars to left. I jiggle the inition switch wires and there it is. The swithed started comming apart and was missing one of the little screws. ANY special tools neeeded to remove the ingnition switch? Do I have to remove the top plate/bracket??? What do the switches run?

I am trying to remember. When I was rebuilding my 600 I was trying to take the ignition out before I realized I didn't need to. Either mine were already rounded out or it took a special star shaped saftey hex. A hex worked for one of the two for mine but the other it would not work at all. Keep in mind someone had already messed with the wiring on my bike and rewired the ignition so it might have just been rounded. If it is something special Harbor Frieght should have it cheap.

Hi,
if memory serves you need safety type torx headed allen keys .
These differ from standard torx as the bolt has apin sticking up that requires adimple in the key.
