Hi,
Well there is alittle program around called "TUBEMITRE" for making patterns to fit two round tubes together as in the making of frames & tail sections. The big draw back with it is that the tubes must meet on the center line of both tubes, if only life was that simple.!!!
What i have found is a web based app that allows two tubes to meet generate a pattern for the shape of the cut end allows for the tubes to be mated any darn place off center:-

I hope it makes you "tail" section swappers life that much easier with being able to use round tubes as well as the awful square stuff that gets used for every thing.
