Out this morning, sat on the fizzer 600 at the lights. Alongside pulls some laddo in a Boxster. I'm thinking of buying a Boxster myself, so I was giving it a good look over.
Anyhoo, young feller-me-lad misinterprated this as eyeing him up for a race so started eyeing me back and revving it. As soon as the lights changed I cranked the fizzer, short shifted into 2nd, nailed it and left young spotty bum trailing in my wake.
Point is, why do people do that? It's like when you're driving home minding your own business when some twonk comes flying by dangerously, usually in a poxy small hatchback or a people carrier (I think minivan to you guys?).
See, if you want to race everyone, or want to drive like you've got a burning turd stuck up your nethers, then why not buy a vehicle better suited to this type of behaviour?
Discuss.

Happens all the time. I notice it more when people pull up on older bikes. They want to see if they can take our old ass slow bikes so they can brag they beat a motorcycle.

I had a similar situation the other day. I was admiring a nice new Ford Mustang. Looking it over, same thing! guy misinterpreted that I wanted to race. He should have know better!! but I just couldn't resist, it was like taking candy from a baby! I wasn't even out of first gear (Vraaaaaap!!!!) and it was over. Other times, you have these guys with their hopped up Honda civics..motion for a race.. and I just let them go, as I slowly roll on the throttle to the next traffic light. But seriously what is the point, there is no challenge here! and it's usually in an intersection, with cars everywhere which is not really a safe and smart environment to be racing anyone. Granted yes there are many cars out there that could smoke a Fizzer, on the top end! But lets see how they do in the twisties eh!!

This happened to me last weekend but I was driving. I was on my way back from the market in the Hemi when some punk in a g35 on 20's pulls up next to me at the light and looks at me wrong. Handed him his ass before the truck hit 3rd gear-and i left the traction control turned on too. I doubt he's gonna go talking about how he got beat by a stock SUV...

Ahahahaha...
When I lived in San Diego it was always the most fun to wax the Porsche "aficionados" (read early- mid- life crisis guys-usually balding).
I was almost always on a 2 stroke, and for quite a while I had hair down to my shoulder blades..hanging out from under the helmet..and was SKINNY. If I kept the visor down it was almost always assumed that I was a female rider....they would pull up at the next light and "make eyes" at me...and then I would flip the visor up and show them my goatee!
But my fave was to pace them....let them stay right next to me...maybe even one handed still looking over at them... and when they pulled their 'slam shift' to second thinking they were gonna pull ahead, I'd fan the clutch..get some wheelspin AND wheelstand and whilst still wheelying I would look back and wave my arm, "c'mon" at them.....
It's fun to flat out own them, and quite a bit more fun to let them know it was very easy.....
Nowadays I do it to Harleys
