That is bad ass. I've used 3D printers but they where gypsum based not ABS plastic based. The one in they showed is about half the cost of the gypsum printer I've used as well. I would love to get one of those scanners.

you jammie B* stard (which english speak for you Lucky SOB.) do get to play any? I did a course in the early 90's with a fanuck controlled vert miller made some exotic bits for the RD's

You can actually make your own 3D scanner using a
free program, a webcam, a laser pointer, and some stuff from a craft store.

Not so much with the 3D scanner, but the the printer yes. The other week I printed out a milling jig and it took 36 straight hours of printing. Unfortunatly those 3D printers aren't the most reliable things and break down often. We have a few different printers actually, ABS plastic, wax, and two more that use powder corn starch(they do color prints).

Depends what you want. I could probably throw in some smaller things. The fact is that ABS material isn't the cheapest stuff. Granted the printers cost ridiculous amounts.
