Re: Another Electric Bike
ummmm, if it doesn't run on gas.....why does it have such a stupid looking gas tank????
I guess there are batteries where the gas tank would be, besides that, looks pretty cool!

you have to understand that the average bike (ie not us) will not buy anything strange. USD forks are now passe' but 15 years or so ago no-one bought in, BUELL motors bikes still are not mainstream despite being superior in most ways. So any bike powered by what ever has to look like any ordinary bike to sell it. The trouble as I have pointed out before is that the batteries are VERY poisonous and cost a lot more carbonwise to make / charge.
Also the faster you go the shorter the distance you can travel, I have pal with an electric milk float and that does 35miles between charges but travels top speed 7MPH. we changed it gearing to 14MPH and it would only go 12 miles before needing a re-charge !!

More on this bike :-http://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/mot ... 70137.html
. It does qualify that the range is in accordance with the EPA drive-cycle. I do know that the EPA drive cycle could be described as leisurely and never exceeds 55mph. So - maybe it can achieve 100 miles or more.
