Bikebandit expedite shipping rant

So, I'm not sure if anyone else has every had anything expedited from bikebandit.com, but so far i am COMPLETELY unimpressed. I realize this week was Christmas and all, but I ordered new head and cylinder gaskets Friday at about 5pm, paying $25 to expedite shipping (my dad's in town till Saturday, and we want to get as much as we can done), so that brought the grand total to $100 for both gaskets and shipping. I don't know if their warehouse guys work on the weekends too, but at the worst they would have the order Monday morning and it should have gone out Monday evening. Since they ship from San Diego and I live in AZ, it should have been at least in Phoenix on Tuesday and delivered Tuesday night, or more likely on Wednesday. So I haven't heard anything by Tuesday so I do their little online chat thing and the parts were being delivered to them and being shipped out that afternoon. So my parts are scheduled to be delivered by Friday since Thursday was Christmas, but it also says to be delivered by 7pm :swear . I'm going to hang around for a little bit in case they show up sometime this morning, but seriously wtf. This puts my order at a week old, shipping from San Diego. I could have saved my $25 and got regular shipping to be here in the same amount of time. It only takes two days to get from Cali.

Anyways, enough of that rant. Has anyone ever complained about shipping to these guys and actually got money back? Like I said, I've ordered from these guys before and it's been fine, one day to process the order and two days to get it here (with regular shipping, not expedite). I worked in the shipping/warehousing field for most of my working life, until my recent switch to he tech field last year, so I'm not an idiot and I know how shipping works. Kinda like when I ordered my helmet mohawk from thehelmentmohawk.com (btw don't order from there, get it on ebay) and it took a month to get here from "California". I got countless excuses because they were moving and it takes up to two weeks normally, then when I finally get the damn thing it came from the midwest :headscratch:

Ok, seriously, enough of my rant :-D hope you guys had a great Christmas!

I have ordered from bike bandit before with regular shipping and have received within 3 days. When you finally get the item I would call them and have them refund you the $25.00 shipping costs.

I'll join in with you as that is the one thing I hate about ordering from the internet. Yes it is expedited shipping, but it is NOT expedited processing and handling. You would think that these places would realize that if someone is willing to pony up and pay for overnight or 2nd day shipping that they want the part within the next two days. Instead they take 4-6 business days to put the order together then they ship it. And the drop shipping style is even worse. But what really gets me is when they don't tell you the item is not in stock and it is going to take 4 weeks to make new ones before they are ready to be shipped.

well, bikebandit actually gets their OEM parts from the manufacturer, so it takes a day to get the part from them, then bikebandit ship the parts out fedex 2nd day. total BS, for $25 it should be overnight shipment. when shipping usps it gets here from san diego in two days anyway.

so i emailed their returns department and i'm not getting reimbursed for any of the shipping charges, had to pay $9 to ship the crap back to them, and the manufacturer charges them a %20 restocking fee, so they charge me a %20 fee. so out of the $100 for the two gaskets and shipping, i will be getting about $60 :swear

oh well, i know not to try and get anything expedited that i may not need in the end. screw it, at least i'll get some money back towards the brand new k&n pods i just bought :grinnod:

Demon,
Time to send them a email with a blind carbon copy to ALL your contacts and tell them why you are doing it.

Two years ago an american pal was being gouged by a certain large italian company over a part ,He complained and it got him NO response so he fried on the forum.
I told him the answer is simple get the email addy of the sales manager & director then we (all the forum ) write an email to them stating we are disgusted that such a loyal customer has been treated so badly and that we as a group will think very carefully about buying their product ever again.

184 emails went in they gave the guy the part and returned his cash,

in cash strapped america if every member of this forum complained of your shoddy treatment ....................................
