Im a but disappointed on the final number, but that doesn't change the fact that the SV is fun as hell to ride!

A dealership (OTD, if your in Cali then you probably heard of them) that is fairly new to the Denver area put on a promotion to Colorado Sportbike members for a free (yes, FREE!!) dyno run. I was excited as I have never had any bikes dyno'd. So my friend and I, who rode a Superhawk, rode down to get our bikes done. Since both of us have V-Twins, we were making guess as to where our numbers were. I guessed mine to be 110hp/71Tr and his 109hp/75Tr. Well.......Our numbers were a bit off. He ended getting 99.6HP and my SV got 100.56HP. And for some odd reason, they couldn't get the torque numbers. There was something about hooking up wires to spark plug wires or something. On the plus side, I now know my bike is running just a tad rich, which is better then my friends way rich bike.

I always thought DynoJet dynos inflated numbers too... I need to take mine in next year after I add a Power Commander.

Seems they didn't attach the sensor onto your plug wires which would read RPMs.

they will sometimes provide CORRECTED values.

dynojets technically read hp at the wheel, engine dynos do not account for drivetrain loss.

I think he meant dynojet vs mustang dyno, which dynojet does usually have slightly higher numbers than a mustang dyno.

mustang dynos are crap from what I have heard about them. not that I have any idea WHY....

Most of the time people complain about mustang dynos cuz their numbers aren't as high compared to their previous dynojet run.

I'm certain thats a completely valid statement.

"Oh yeah, well your Mustang dyno sucks cause I just got 157 hp on the DynoJet... and it wasn't even turned on yet!"

I've never been anywhere that had anything but Dynojet roller dyno's

I was expecting about 120hp...I didnt think the sv1000 only had 100...oh well...as long as it moves!

120hp *maybe* at sea level. Im at 6000 feet so that doesnt help any.

From the factory they're supposed to be 120hp at the motor, so 100hp at the wheel is about right.
