help finding a 2000 zx9 gas cap ring

Iv got a buddy that cant find the ring part for his gas tank on his 2000 kawasaki zx9. I guess the cap is an off center design and he cant find one that will fit.
any links anyone can give to me so I can help the guy out?

You could suggest just getting a keyless gas cap. I have a ProTek keyless on my bike. There are no name brands on ebay. Comes with everything too...Cap, Ring, New mounting screws.

buy a keyless cap...zx9r caps and zx6r caps are the same. you can get billet ones shipped from eabay for 40 bucks...trust me they are nice. i rock one on my 929!

I think thats the set he got, he said it was "Protek" but the ring doesnt fit because on his tank the hole is not center, its off center about 1/2 inch...
I saw some pics of other newer bikes and they all seem to have the same thing...Im going to have to wait for the guy to let me see what he got.
Im helping him turn his bike into a streetfighter

It might just be the incorrect one for his bike. It'll be easier to get the correct one for it instead of trying to make something else work.

he said he got it straight from the sight, and it says 2000 kawasaki zx9 on the package.
he bought the tank from ebay I think. the tank itself might be the wrong tank to the bike
