OCTOBER PHOTO FINAL JUDGING:- VOTE NOW !!!!

This is the final round of voting for the October photo contest. Our finalist from semi-final booth 1 was fzraudun. Booth 2 was a tie between Xian_13 and sbutler. This makes it a three way race for the prize. As much as I'd like to see a knife fight or drag race for 1st, we're going to settle for voting. In the event of a tie, we will ask Gov. Palin to cast the deciding vote or resort to knife fighting (ok, maybe not). The vote will remain open until 12/10/8 and the entries are below. Again, a big thanks to everyone who participated in the contest, I was personally blown away by all the different approaches people took and the impressive results.

Gonna have to be honest here when I say I'm pretty bitter.
I was the one of the only few that shot a pic of my own bike and in the subject matter that was lightly described(fall and calender look). I'm probably one of the only ones that actually used technique besides the Honda guy, and even then no technical/style points.
Why did judges put pictures that did not follow the criteria in some form or another into the voting booths, and then the photos make it here?
I see no reason to hold these contests or for me to personally participate if the ending result is going to be some declaration of "winning" is so completely random there is no point to saying what the photo subject matter should be. Waste of time. Why didn't you just say "Submit your pics while you're on the track and you don't know what season or anything and have someone else take it. It doesn't even have to be your creativity, someone else can do it for you. It does not have to work on a calender or anything so ignore that also." Because, that's what has happened here. Ridiculous waste of time for those of us that actually went out and attempted to take nice, pleasing, technical calender photo of our bikes and not dig up something that happened in the summer during a fall photo contest where the subject is fall, or last year or the year before or yesteryear.

CONTEST #1: Best Bike Creative Photo Contest. This is where you really don't need a great camera, but you do need some creativity. Fall is a great time of year in most of the US and abroad, so get creative and get shooting! Must include your own FZR, YZF or FZ motorcycle. Think FZR calender type look. Please place submissions in this thread.

I understand where you are coming from PAfizzer600. I guess under the guidelines you are correct. I entered my bike as well under the same conditions. Better thought and planning on the next one is all I can say.

This was meant as a fun contest and definately not a popularity contest. Just members voting on what they saw as the coolest pic. Please take this in the spirit it was meant, just fun..

Man I don't have a lot to say with respect to your commentary. When I initially put the two booths together, images that didn't depict the owners bike or a yamaha bike were DQ all others were left in. That was based on a general interpretation of the guidelines. Like the guys said its all in good fun and the results certainly weren't geared to alienate any particular member.

Thanks Tommy, uh... well, i've been out a little while but i did get to vote on everything. I voted at all the stages of qualification and was pretty fair and broad-stroke about it, not trying to be a prick or pigeonhole or popularity-contest anyone. I tell you what though, i wouldn't get too worked up about it though, there will be other contests probably and the person who wins THIS time will not even be allowed to submit a photo next time, to make it fair. At least that's the way it's done everywhere else. (other forums)

Anyway, don't get your nose pushed out of joint, toughen-up and have thicker skin and realize it's the internet, all in fun, and don't take life so seriously or you'll walk around your whole life with a broken heart and an unused male reproductive apparatus. (trust me i've been there)

So everybody cheer up, buck up, and have fun cuz Christmas is coming and you have to LIVE every day ... so go ride and be happy or do whatever else makes you happy. I'm gonna go play video games or with above-mentioned apparatus.
