My rear tire on my 93 FZR600 is a 150/60 Bridgestone BT45R.
Kinda crappy when pushed hard in the canyons but It came with the bike when I bought it. Its time to replace it. Any suggestions? Its pretty much 80% canyon carving in So Cal mountains.

I have had three BT014s (140/60-18) on the back of mine. Love 'em, nice tire. Sticks nice and all that.
But, I was only getting 3500 miles or so out of them.

So, this last time I replaced the rear with the Avon AV56 in 150/70-18.

I love it! Great tire, seems like the profile is better suited to the fzr. It's a bit taller than the /60 bt014. Sticks as good as I need it to, and it is wearing like iron so far. I have somwhere close to 3000 miles it and there is no hint of a center stripe. The front bt014 is getting replaced with the matching avon when it is done.

I paid $119 from Dennis Kirk for the bt014, and $124 from Competition Accessories.

DK isn't listing the 014 rears right now, and CA only has 17's.

I shall now link you to the best fizzer tire i have used for multi weather.

160/60/18 baby! (yes it fits great, no it doesn't wear weird. I was recommended this tire by the owner of WRS motorsports.)
It's WAAAAY stickier than my old battleaxe.

DIABLO STRADA! I'll never go back, buy these for the rest of my life. Great price, also. like, 125? They make Metzlers(sp)

Get it, you will NOT be sorry! These things are AMAZING and can pack some mileage on them.

So how much did it cost you & where did you buy yours from?

I would be very surprised if you aren't happy with this choice.

Damn, it aint a contest.

I've heard good things about the strada, but I have had too much bad history with pirelli tires, both bike and car (chunking, carcass separation....continual bead leakage) so I have a bit of a bias.

I doubt if my FZR will ever strain the Avon's 'W' rating (168mph)
