Well, I bought a Kawasaki Ninja 250 from someone. Hilariously we set everything up through craigslist and email and then when i went to go get it, it was someone I went to high school with! $1500 got me a 2001 ninja 250 with 4600 miles on it. A few scuffs on the exhaust and thats it. I'll post pics tomorrow.

p.s. the bike is for my GF. I'm nervous and excited for her to start riding next spring.

way lighter, almost moped light to me, slow but not awful, great fun to ring out around town without getting in trouble

Couldn't have said it better. It does about 65mph at 6800 rpm and redlines at 14k so it can handle freeway speeds fine. It's just not "quick." I would describe it as..... well.... have you ever had gummed up carbs on our bikes? Or maybe been down a cylinder where you feel like you have to twist the throttle more than you're used to on the fizzer? Thats what it sorta feels like. I'm happy with it.

Looks exactly like this. Just as clean too.

IDK i had no problems today

+65mpg? Yes Please.

If anything a good bike that she will be comfortable and confident to learn on. Being 5'3" there's not much that fits her w/o lowering and i want her to have a good non-intimidating first experience with motorcycles.

Nice, very low mileage especially for the year. My gf rides an '08 ninja 250. I was nervous as hell, still am, about her riding. Very good starter bike though. She says she's ready for a bigger bike though. They 250 just doesn't have enough oompf. I really like riding it though. The handling is superb. Better than my fzr. Its tiny compared to my fzr too, But i had to lower it cuz she's 5'3. On the otherhand, its slow and doesn't sound like a crotch rocket. Very street ridable bike though.

91 hp for the fzr is a tad high.

What is the next bike you are thinking about getting her? I'd be interested to know considering my gf is the same size about.
