What 1000 would you buy, and why? I need some opinions before I purchase!!! Thanks Guys!!!

I will go first.... I think I want a GSXR-1000.... My buddies at the track have them and the guy at the local bike shop says the engine's bottom end is alot more stout than others...... plus it looks good...blue/white....

If it's new, the CBR1000 was the bike of the year according to Motorcyclist.

I can't give adequate advice, but it seems that more Suzukis are being raced in the 1k class than any other bike.

I've heard that the Suzukis have a lot more motor metal to them as well.

despite the fact of my Yamaha bias I would buy the GSXR for the fact that parts are dirt cheap there are a zillion and one aftermarket bits & they seem bullet proof if half the nitros blurb is any thing to go by.

new or used?

R1 04+ are decent and dead sexy imo

so are the 04+ GSXR's

and the 1k doubleR's

zx-10s arent bad

rage is right if you go new the new CBR1000RR is the bike o the year

and its almost 2k less than than an 09 R1 OTD

I cant swing the payment of a new one....I have 3 kids and a wife ....But I would like a good used one... I cant decide on what to go for... either way Im still stayin here and chattin with yall!!!!

I've owned alot of bikes here are my thoughts from my personal experiances

The Honda is built like it's car, very dependable. I'm a big guy and the Honda fits me better because it has a larger frame.. I am also not an pushing the bike to it's fullest.. While i am better than most squids i'm not ever getting my knee close to the ground..

The GSXR is too small for me and i'm not crazy about the looks of the new bikes.. ( They look cheap) From a performance standpoint, you really have to beat on the gixxer to get it to move. The powerband kicks in above 9K.. I need more midrange power for the driving that i do..

I love the R1.. The looks and performance just seems to fit me perfectly.. (i'm giving up on liter class bikes until my licnse gets better). It's also a great daily driver..NOt sure that i am ever looking to buy a new bike again.. I like the idea of picking up a 1-2 year old Impulse buy..

if you get the GSXR you'll have to live with the little pink squid symbol next to your name

i vote CBR but i'm a little biased. power everywhere and comfortable. if you're talking track-dedicated, maybe the R1.

The zx10 is the fastest out of all of them.

Here a re my questions..what are you gonna do with the bike? Drag? Take it though some twisties? Honestly, in your case, I would maybe suggest a Busa if you can swing one.

I wanna bike I can get 40MPG's with back and forth to work, and on some weekends maybe change a sproket and run it at the track......We dont have any curves in South Georgia so dont base a bike on that!!! I just want a good all around bike to tool around on!!!!

Then I would say gixxer 1k, Honda 954, or a Busa. The YZF1000 would be rare and that means hard to find parts. The Busa and the Gixxer have the most after market support though. If you can find a 99 Busa for a good price you'll be lucky, those DO NOT have the 186 mph speed limit governed in. I think they top out at 210 with stock gearing.
