I have a CBR600RR undertail I was going to use that looks like it should fit between the subframe.

I am not going to use it because...I'm lazy.

I don't know if that CBR undertail will fit the FZR subframe nicely or not. I always though an undertail would be cool on the FZR, if you can make it work :udaman

Neither the CBR or the R1 will work with the fzr subframe. MrFreeze actually chopped off the FZR subframe and made mounts to allow for the complete R1 subframe to bolt to. The CBR pipe is just too wide. Even still once you get it sorted out you'll need to get a mid pipe made. I know of 3 members here (I you have done this and have not mentioned it please feel free to do so) who have made their own mufflers from scratch (Maverick, ThatKid, Cad600). Cad600 actually has plans for an undertail exhaust once he gets things sorted out with his build.

I was lookin ginto this very issue on th rac bike but I decided nto to.

I canget custom made exhausts for mteh factory I jsut tel tehm teh length adn size adn what kind of innres. Then I tell them the way I want teh pipe t go. Havin gthe bike here in fornt of them helps as well.

Logn story short.

Issue #1 - I defeated the purpose of getitng my center of gravity lower on the race bike as I woud raise the exhaust higher than the stock set up.

Issue#2 - With the wires and race tail section and minimal everything under there I was worried about the heat stransfer effecting the wiring/electrnicsa or black box. I don't know enough about electrical to knwow if this was an issue but issue #1 made it a moot point anyway.

I will use a hindle lightweight header instead and jsut use a tri oval shorty can I used on the 400 race bike. it sounds great also.
