Bike is wimpering

Its really sad. After every ride my bike "crys" like she wants to run more. This problem ceases when I pop the gas tank fill cap.
This leads me to believe that the fuel tank breather hose may have a slight clog in it. I removed the tube and through some air through it(off a compressor)and no prob.
Now the line in the tank. How can I go about clearing that line or checking to see if it is clogged? I don't really want to blow air into the tank because if there is any debris I don't want it mixing with my fuel even though there is the primary fuel filter.
Can I remove the fill cap assembly to access the breather tube? Or is there another way of checking to see if it is clear?
