Anyone know a good place to get fairings in good shape for a decent price? I'm doing a complete rebuild on my fzr and I'm not wanting to spend 1500 bucks on used fairings

You might find something on eBay for used fairings. You can also check out AirTech for new fairings.

Thanks for the response. I've check airtech. Its gonna cost me 750 before shipping and taxes for the full kit minus tank cover and front fender. And eBay...man some people think they have gold. I've seen well over 500 for a side fairing. Outrageous!

Unfortunately, as these bikes get older it gets harder to find some parts. "Harder to find" ends up equaling "expensive" when you find them. This is why a lot of guys end up modifying their bikes to be street fighters, naked bikes, etc ...

Here's some other sources. May not be any cheaper but sources are getting fewer each year.

How dependable is beasley? Any comparison to air tech?

I did some shopping between beasly and airtech. Air tech has more of the stock fairings for a bit higher price where as Beasley's seems to have their fairings molded together, particularly the tail pieces but is lower on price. Does anyone have experiences they wish to share, good or bad with these companies and their products?

Well guys....bit the bullet today. Bought the air tech set. Believe it or not, Beasley was less than 20 bucks difference. But I think the better quality of air tech was worth it. Now I wait...

Let us know what you think after they are delivered. I'm curious if they have the mounting holes pre-drilled and what type of fasteners are required.

The company tells you up front that nothing is drilled and there are no mounting pins. You have to fabricate those pieces yourself. They do offer some nice threaded posts with broad flat bottoms to adhere to the fairing. I was snooping on YouTube and there was a guy who bought a full set and he did a pretty good show of how he did things. His garage is messy as all get out and drives me nuts but he did well! I think I'm going to be more inclined to document all the stuff I do from here on out. Haven't gotten many pics of the assembly.

On another note, I decided not to sand blast the engine. I debated but after finding a few stress cracks here and there, I decided it's not worth destroying the engine to make it look nice.

Yes that does sound catastrophically misleading. I found a few hairline cracks on a couple of covers that bolt to the engine. Nothing on the head or crank case. I'm replacing most of them so no reason to blast them. The engine case really isn't all that bad. Little bit of degreaser and she'll look fine
