Clutch cable stretching super early - question

Been a while guys, had a car accident, had purchased a nice 2007 Toyota 4Runner V8 Sport Edition back in January, a 16 year old girl in the neighborhood on a Learner's Permit used her dad's Honda Civic as a launch ramp for it and I became airborne Dukes of Hazzard fashion, and crash landed upside-down. Vehicle obviously totaled and the old SUV is in the shop, praying it can be repaired. Obviously been riding my FZR in the interim.

Clutch cable snapped last week so I just replaced it last night. Rode it only about 25 miles so far, and the cable already seems to be stretching quite a bit. Is this normal ? Could it be the heat ? It's only like max 75 degrees around here. It said "exact fitment replacement" but I had to grind the metal end down where it goes into the case housing to make it fit. Not sure why the manufacturer would build it .5mm out of spec, but makes me wonder if it's also using an inferior cable. Last time I replaced it was probably 2008.

What are your experiences with these ? For now I'll just dial back the barrel. I know it's supposed to have a little slack, but not this much.

Have you adjusted the clutch mechanism at the sprocket cover?
